Spring Sports

The hospitalization rate has been super high relative to the poz tests...flu is about 1%. This has been 12-15%
And those rates are why this virus is such a big deal. Is the mortality rate of COVID-19 low? Yes, very. But with 12-15% of patients needing hospitalization, now you have a hospital that's packed with people all carrying a highly contagious disease. So the people who break a leg, have a heart attack, car crash, or anything that's normally pretty routine stuff, now are stuck waiting at the hospital.

I guess MSHSAA is waiting for someone else to cancel spring sports. Can’t start up again at least until May - haven’t practiced since mid-March...

Mshsaa posted they are waiting to see what more schools do as far cancelling or going back for the remaining part of the year. In their message they state education is main priority and once that is figured out they will address spring sports.

Kansas already has. KSHSAA postponed them on March 17, then canceled them after the governor closed the schools for the rest of this academic year.

Got got off the Nebraska board. They're done. The governor ordered all schools closed the rest of the academic year AND canceled all extracurricular activities.
