Misery loves company don't they? All of the disappointments from years past. I've only had to endure those since the early 90's.

Obviously 98. This was the real first time I had my heart crushed into a fine powder. I was laying on the living room floor while my dad kept nagging me to help unload firewood. That entire game was in slow motion.

Dimitrius Underwood anybody?

2000, 41-0. Jesus Christ that one was hard to watch. But that one wasn't as bad because it was over at freak'n halftime. This was followed by Robert Smith retiring and a tragic Korey Stringer death.

4th and 24(and no time) that cost the Vikings the North against the Cardinals. Josh FREAK'N McCown......

2005-Love Boat, Culpeppers career and everything else down the drain....

2009 NFC Championship-12 men in the huddle, phantom PI call on the sideline, Favre throwing across the body. I was in Vegas for this one sitting in Bally's sports book with my brother and a couple buddies. What a great setup we had and everything was going right. But I swear to god I looked over at my brother and told him, "watch this, they'll find a way to lose". And I just sat in silence as it happened. Watched grown men cry at that end in Vikings gear(not sure if they had a lot of money on it or they were just that devastated???)

Then the ensuing Brad Childress/Lesley Frazier era. This era started with our dome caving in and having to play outside at the Gopher's stadium. Favre being out of shape and shoved out their to end his career on a frozen field . Even made the playoffs in 2012, to lose to the Packers with little to no offense.

Then we're in the no mans land a land known as Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder. Finished 5-10 and thankfully let the nicest coach ever go, Leslie.

Which brings me to this era. Mike Zimmer. In his first year he took the worst defense in the NFL into the 11th. The next year to the playoffs and had the 5th best defense. This was one of the top five hardest losses as a Vikings fan. Mother ********** Blair Walsh hitting 40 yarders all game and then can't hit a chip shot to beat the Seahawks in negative temps.

Bridgewater was finally coming into his own. We FINALLY have a Franchise Quarterback. FINALLY.

August 2016, non-contact injury. That one sticks out to me. Nobody knew how bad that injury would be, but by reports you could tell it was bad. Nobody was really talking about when Bridgewater COULD return, but IF.

That season was destined for failure. 5-0 to 8-8. It was just the cherry on top the Bridgewater injury.

And here we are. First game of the year, Vikes are fire. Took it to the Saints and Bradford had the best game of his career. They look to be real. Then reports came out that Bradford has a "nagging" injury. That injury turned into most of the season. On top of that Dalvin goes down with a "non-contact" knee injury while starting to gain steam. I believe he was second to Hunt in rushing yards at the time.

And yet here we are. Defense has played out of this world. Keenum has done exactly what is asked of him and Zimmer has done an A+ job......

All of this over some silly sport......lol

Point being, maybe we can recruit a few Chief fans to send some hail mary's on Sunday?

That would be the lowest TV ratings in history. Bahahaha. No way I watch that garbage. Bortles vs Keenum. Omg.

I get it, that you find a well balance team boring. Maybe you should check out the CFL??

Vikings vs Jags? The Jags are boring.

I'd like to see the Vikings take out the Patsies.

How about Saints-Steelers? Two well balanced teams with HOF talent.
Yea. I like it. No Brady. No boring Keenum or Bortles. As they would say at a Vikings game: Yeah. OK then.

Vikes have a 130 PD, Saints have a 122PD.....If Keenum is boring, I like boring...You should like him since he put up video game passing yards in a system offense at Houston. Those seem to be your guys.

Better Scramble Than Lose Baby

Yawn.

HOw about all the the Super Bowl losses? The one to the Raiders was my fav. Jack Tatum pretty much exemplified the team beating with that one hit.

A Franchise with two Missing Rings episodes...

I want my Vikings to play the Pats at home!! SKOL!!
'98 was awful for me, Gary f'n Anderson decides to miss his first kick of the year!!
I don't feel good about Sunday, but that's my Vikings fandom coming out!
If its Viks vs Steelers, we are taking my Dad up there!

The difference in this team and years past, COACHING. If we lose it's going to be from player mistakes not coaching. We lost in 98 and 2009 because of coaching mistakes(Childress was terrible).

I get the negative feels going into a game simply due to Vikings history, I don't feel that this year. Maybe reality slaps me in the face. I think the defense matches up very well with the saints who lost a guard and struggled to run the ball last week. That stadium may be the loudest ever registered for a sporting event.

Asking as the offense does what it's done all year, we will be looking at an NFC Championship game.

Just think if Philly gets beat today, what that stadium will sound like tomorrow! A chance to play for a trip to the Superbowl and the Superbowl is in Minneapolis!! Wow! Can't wait! Skol!

Good news, Cris Collinsworth isn't doing the game, bad news Joe buck is.

Jack Buck? Oh yeah!

I'm in the minority, but I like Buck (Cardinals fan here), Aikman I could care less about

If the Vikings can beat the Saints today I would favor them to beat Eagles at Philly next week. If Atlanta's defense can hold them to 15, Minnesota can shut them down also.

From a fan view, the Vikes/Aint's was an exciting finish, even an excellent game. From a football standpoint, I would rather see a team win rather than a team give it away. I was pulling for purple and gold only because I did not care who won and my 12 year old said, I want the Vikings, so I joined him in pulling for them. The Vikes did nothing to earn that win, Aint's make one of the worst plays in NFL history and hand it to Vikes.

I dont dislike the Vikings. I do admire Drew Brees. He got hosed out of a possible SB win after making a fantastic comeback.
A super bowl win over Brady would have moved him even or ahead of Manning historically in my eyes.

So you believe that play was a game-winning play rather than a We lost the gameplay? Surely you know the difference. If not, I do not have time for a discussion about it. Have a great day.

Even Keenum was smart enough to not think he won the game. He was great after the game. It made me like him even more.
I might even root for the guy in Philly, although I have this perverse dream of Bradford having to enter the game and throwing a pick 6.

Lets be real here. This is professional football?

Check out @barstooltweetss’s Tweet:

So maybe don't throw two interceptions in the first half and then you don't have to worry about getting "hosed" by a bad tackle attempt.

If the Vikes lose are you going to come here and talk about Keenum getting hosed that they allowed that 4th and 10? After all, he played just as well if not better than Brees last night.

I doubt it.

Brees was on fire in the second half. Ive always been a Brees fan, can't stand his head coach. I knew the Vikes were in trouble after Sendejo went down and Rhodes was hobbled.

Can you pull that quote for me?

Absolutely a game winning play. Otherwise nobody ever "wins" a game. There are only games given away.

What quote? You want me to do searches for you to find every post game interview he did last night? Wtf. He said something along the lines of " I dont even know what just happened". I dont remember the other words he said. But he wasnt taking credit. Which I thought was great. I saw him interviewed by three different networks.

Brees is a HOFer. In the history of the league he is an incredibly accurate passer.
Three of the four highest completion percentages ever recorded are by Drew Brees.

The Vikes have a very good defense. Yet he carved them up the second half. He played well enough to win. Just enjoy your win and stop whining because we dont think Case freakin Keenum is Joe Montana.
