There will be ways around the system. Play up against weak schools and get more points. Districts seedings usually are not the problem people have. Coaches vote on most times are pretty accurate.. It is the games after districts that cause a problems, when top teams are all on 1 side of the bracket. Keep system the way it is, then re seed after districts. If there are so many miles between opponents, they have to meet in the middle.

Agreed! Re-seed after districts. Everyone goes to Columbia. Single elimination. Use Hearnes and Mizzou arena. If you need more space for round 1 with all the games then Moberly CC, Lincoln, Jeff City HC, Hickman, etc would all be able to host 1 night I am sure. Those gyms all hold more than most of the sectional/quarterfinal games did this year.

Why reseed after districts if you're still going to have districts with multiple top ranked teams? It's ok if they meet in districts, but not sectionals?

I think there are some location issues so having districts grouped by location still makes the most sense. That will eliminate most teams. Then having the remaining teams after districts, either 16 or 8, can then re-seed so you have the best possible match-ups likely to happen in Columbia. It does suck for some of those districts that will have multiple ranked teams and one is eliminated earlier than they should be, but it's a happy-medium between the two and would be feasible to do.

People playing up for points is lame. MSHSAA needs to get over that.
