The big Saluda Bell game is this Friday night. Class 2 Lexington (8-0) hosts Class 3 Richmond (8-0) in the battle for the bell, as well as MRVC East championship. Richmond is physical but can they match the speed and intensity from across the river?

I've got Lexington by a TD.

Who you got?

I think you're a little mixed up on who has the speed advantage..

Im glad someone made this thread before me. I am surprised at the lack of attention Richmond is getting and REALLY surprised about Lexington. They are certainly flying under the radar. I really hope this is a close game, with Lexington winning. I just don't see Lexington keeping up for all 4 quarters. I say Richmond 21 Lexington 14

I think Richmond is a very good team, I just know with that Lexington team there are a lot of returners that (I believe) will come out looking for blood after the pounding Richmond gave them last year.

But yes, radar under, they have been. - Yoda

Richmond brings back 9 starters on defense, and 10 on offense. I've watched them both play, and Richmond, is more athletic at literally every position, and bigger at almost every position.

I wouldn't mind seeing Lexington win, but they will get beat badly if Richmond is healthy. Heard from a friend in Richmond that they had a bunch of starters out last week.

I have only seen Lexington play once this season and Richmond on film once as well. Lexington has managed to make it through the season relatively unscathed. If what you have heard is true, it may be the difference maker. Either way, shaping up to be one hell of a ballgame

Which games did you see?

Just got this from a mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnall's back porch:

Richmond by three scores plus or minus 1 score for each point of turnover differential.

Lexington gave up a hail mary before half time last year which allowed Richmond to tie the game. Richmond pulled away late after Lexington lost their 2 starting corners / QB in the second half.

Game could be close. Who knows

Bro, that wasn't a Hail Mary.. And the games wasn't tied at half?...

I've seen throws less than 45 yards be called a Hail Mary... It was a Hail Mary.

Yes the game was tied at half 7-7. Lexington scored on their opening drive in the second half.

Not sure if the Spartans have the horses to win this one. I saw Lexington about mid-season, and they are impressive.

Did the coach not have any timeouts left. I would have burned a couple of timeouts and had my assistants looking for the lost players. I just hope they have been found.

Guess they were out. That was my first thought too.

Richmond 47, Lexington 14.

The Spartans are deeper and faster at most positions on the field. And let's be honest, Richmond might be the second best team in Class 3. Lexington is a very good Class 2 team, but probably not in the top 8 teams of Class 2.
Should be a hell of an atmosphere, but Richmond is the more talented and better team here.
