Lamberts? Dear Lord man, if you're going to drive that far out of the way...go to City Butcher in Springfield. It's near Kickapoo. I live in the supposed BBQ capital here in KC...yet the brisket (fatty style for me) and ribs there are as good as anything I've had here.

If your going all the way to Lambert’s the B-29 Cafe across the road has really good burgers and fairly quick with a super good WW2 interior decorations.

Bair’s In downtown is absolutely the best place for a burger. Literally about 20 different burgers. If you want something like Lambert’s without the drive and wait it’s Flat Creek for sure.

Am I the only one astonished by how many of all the vegan posters on mosports know the best meat eating places to eat in any corner of the state? No sushi?
Or, am I wrong, no vegan or sushi eaters on here?

I don't even know what planet they come from! Are vegans and sushis real or some kind of Star Trek imaginary creatures

I have! And LOVE it. It’s my favorite here. Spent about $50 there the first Friday of March Madness last year. First time I’d been. Had read on Twitter where Brashad Breeland had gone there for his first que trip in KC. Our 13 yr old boy and I ate ourselves stupid all day.

Heady's BBQ is good....also E's drive in for an old fashioned burger, rocco's has good pizza....never been to Flat Creek or Beefcakes, but others have told me that it's good

I live in Republic and my hands down favorite is Flat Creek. You will not leave there hungry and I would get there somewhat early in order to make the game. If you aren't looking to eat your weight in catfish or ribs than I would recommend Bairs or Beefcakes for a good burger. I would also recommend Heady's BBQ. All are good options.

I agree with a lot of the suggestions here. If you are attached to Lamberts and that’s your thing go for it but RHS is about halfway between Republic and SW Springfield and there are tons of superior options with less wait that will be more convenient than going all the way to Ozark. These days I think of Lamberts as a crowded tourist trap that’s past it’s prime.
