STL privates took it on the chin a bit last year. Now not so early prediction is that won't happen again this season................

Dates are set as the earliest they can determine counts on enrollment based upon dates they have set. Enrollment data has to be sent in by 21 August. Which only gives them a little over a week to then take that and do up classes and districts with caveats based upon private success factor on top of that. I say August 30 is quite acceptable then.

Why do they wait for Aug 21

You obviously know nothing about mshsaa and how they determine this shit. Please go read the handbook be4 giving out shit information. Mshsaa uses 9-11 enrollment from the last day in March and that data must be sent to them by April 15th.

That means Mshsaa has had enrollment data since April 15th.

August 21 is the deadline to submit your eligible roster however updates and edits can be made as was an issue with a certain big name private school last year.

Pleased to see the bots have been vanquished, for the time being anyway. Shoutout to those that took the initiative to get rid of them.

Ready to see what the new look COC brings to the table. Still think Nixa is the team to beat this year. Interested in seeing if Republic, Webb, and Joplin can maintain their success after losing a lot to graduation. Definitely think Carthage rebounds after their weird year last year, their o-line is the biggest question mark for me. The OC schools are a wildcard as well, I think Lebanon is the only one that will make a serious impact. Ready for August 30!

I believe mshsaa waits so long to find out which teams are actually going to have 11-man football. Smaller enrollment schools or even some of the large inner city teams may intend to have football but lack the numbers when the season comes around.

This is the reason. "Back in the day" when they released districts in February, teams were getting burned by a school dropping out late and screwing up the class breaks and district byes (when you used to play district games 8,9,10). So they opted for this method to allow for more time for teams to give the most accurate decision possible on having a team or not.

In theory it's great, besides...what changes if you don't know your district before August 30? Nothing.
However, teams STILL drop in-season. Teams STILL drop right before districts to avoid a first round beating. There's STILL byes in nearly every class with 56-57 teams (or 42 class 6). So it doesn't exactly prevent what it was intended to do.

I know there's been some very vocal coaches who don't want this info released on the day of the first game. It's too much. People would like to know before week 1 prep. If it were me, and thankfully it's not, I'd release them this coming Friday. I'd fine anyone that drops between that day and week 1 an enormous amount of money for screwing up the classes. Anyone who drops due to low numbers closer to end of season we live with and assume it was done in good faith and safety in mind.

Can’t wait to see the Beaver Brothers unleashed. Saw that one of them can benchpress 425. This will be one of the most athletic football teams that K has ever unleashed.

Same here! Not knowing the class/district assignments makes all the title discussions moot until August 30 but will check out enrollment stats posted here. Racing season ended for me last night so here we finally go................

Why is Carthage's O line a question mark? 2 6'6 320+ pounders always helps.

Sure, but neither of them have played significantly varsity time. I don’t doubt they can get it done, but it’s the one position group Carthage had to significantly replace this year.

Yep KC East and Northeast are literally not just year to year but game to game sorry to say.

Fair enough. One of them played a bit on D last year and looked like he could move pretty well for his size. We'll see.

MSHSAA and logic don’t belong in the same sentence.
