Religious leaders are failing while the Republic falls

The goal and responsibility of "religion" isn't civic in nature.
Faith, personal reflection, repentance, etc. may make you motivated as a citizen but that isn't the point of faith or religion. While as a Christian I am concerned and motivated by certain political issues and thus motivated to vote or speak out, what country I live in or the politics of it only make it easier or harder to live out my faith or make converts to it. My faith is the same no matter the country i'm in or the policies of that country.

A few thoughts. First, I appreciate the conversation.
1. The clergy are religious leaders. So why the silence? The answer is they no longer fear God as much as they do people. Being shunned. They fear the left, the NYT, and Facebook, Twitter mobs. FYI Fear God and keep his commandments. I'm not hearing this now too much. They must not teach this in seminary these days. Do they see Christians and jews first or do they see color?

2. Religion does not have that much effect on religious people.

3. Sermons about thou shall not steal can't hurt. If ever religion is needed now is the time.

4. The center of your faith is repentance but right now you get no repentance even for things you did or said 20 years ago, this would be a perfect time to teach forgiveness, yet silence. Facebook? Tweets? Opinion pieces lol

5. It's fundamental from all Bible-based religions that we are all created in God's image that God has no race and from Adam and Eve from whom we are all descendants have no race? Seems pretty appropriate right now, even if you don't believe in creation, it doesn't mean it's wrong.

6. Does an ideology that affirms the significance of race ever lead to anything good? Isn't this what the Nazis and Klan do!

We need a new Billy Graham! On a personal note I can say I have been reminded that I should need my Lord and savior this much all the time.
