Maybe McConnell will retire since thedems will still have the Senate and assuming the pubs take the House Pelosi will probably retire and maybe the pubs will have enough sense not to make the McCarthy Speaker.

When John Boehner resigned, Ol Kev was the only candidate running to replace him. He was unopposed and couldn't manage to win. The Rs chose Paul Ryan, who wasn't running, instead.
