Real reason people arent for impeachment

Duck the problem is all the Polls show American's don't care about the Russian investigation end of story. Health care is the number one thing that most American's care about. If the Dem's want to hit Trump were it matters hit him there. Right now all their focus is on Russia and most voters don't care. It is over move on.

Bingo

The Dem candidates are focussed on the other issues. What exactly can Dems in the house and senate do about health care or gun violence or anything else until Trump's arse is gone? Explain. They have already passed bills and they are just sitting there. The senate never debates anything and Trump wont sign it any way.

And again I ask you, show me a bill they have passed that is worthy of getting a look? I provided you a link to all their bills and you have provided nothing. Tell me one bill you are for or that we should all be for.

Universal background checks on all gun purchases.

The universal background check bill, H.R. 8, requires background checks on all firearm sales in the country. Currently, only licensed gun dealers must perform background checks for anyone seeking to purchase a firearm. Most unlicensed sellers do not; H.R. 8 would make that illegal. There are exemptions to the law like "gifts to family members and transfers for hunting, target shooting, and self-defense," according to the House Judiciary Committee website.

The measure passed 240-190. Eight Republicans voted for the bill, and two Democrats, Jared Golden of Maine and Collin Peterson of Minnesota, voted against it.

Why shouldn't EVERY bill that is passed in one house of congress get a debate and a vote in the other. What is everybody afraid of? If it ain't good and the people let their representative they don't want it then it won't get the votes. ONE person in either house should NEVER have the power to keep a bill from getting a vote on the floor. I can't imagine why anybody EVER thought that was a good idea. That person has far more power than what is supposed to be the most powerful man in the world, the president of the United States.

LOL your own party will not even bring up every bill, what about AOC green deal, Pelosi won’t bring it up for a vote because it will expose those within the party were they actually stand on issues. Let’s be honest both parties do exactly the same thing, do I agree not entirely but I would like to see were people actually stand on the issues, but both parties protect members who cannot vote certain ways for fear of getting voted out. Again not saying it is right but both do it.

This is what you bring up, well number one I am not against universal back ground checks.

Did you or did you not ask me to name one?

Why cant we debate it and have a vote in the senate? Anyone?

Duck I would have no issues with it being brought for debate and for a vote, but again this is just a way for one party to protect their elected officials from casting a vote that could either upset those they represent or those lobbyist who help them get elected. But again both parties do this.

McConnell wont let anything be debated, sir.

90+% of U.S. citizens are in favor of background checks. This is not a dangerous vote for anyone. McConnell is single handedly running the U.S government.

They already do background checks.
And the exceptions built into that bill make it change very little. Any Pub voting against that would rightly be branded a gun nut but voting for it makes him in favor of gun control. I wouldn't let my guys vote on it either.

All that is dependent on what Duck posted being accurate which it likely isn't.

I didn't say anything about which party, I condemned Harry for the same thing but I still don't know why the folks in charge of these things ever thought it was a good idea. Some pretty smart people set this stuff up a long time ago, I wish I could ask them why they thought ONE person in each house should get to shoot down anything they want anytime they want.

Probably the sake of time. If they debated EVERYTHING then absolutely nothing would get done.

I think originally this was part of the issue, but don't bills have to now make it out of committee or have so many sponsors. If the vote would be close enough I think it needs to be brought up. I see both parties doing this and now days it is mainly done to cover your weaker members in districts where a vote either way could hurt them.

Oh no doubt political agendas play a massive role. I was just offering further explanation.

This is great. You point out your dem gripes all the time. We point out repub shenanigans and its the old Donald Trump "both sides" routine.

The house passed it. It aint "both sides". Its McConnell, the 80 year old turtle.

Exactly what is getting done the way it's being done now? They leave the room to vote on things when they have someone testifying before their committtees, they have time to vote on damn near anything. I know they would if they weren't on vacation 40 weeks a year.
