I have seen both Northland Christian and North Platte play this week. North Platte will have to play a near perfect game to beat them in the district semifinal. I haven't seen Santa Fe play so I can't make a judgement there, but I have seen many teams play and Northland Christian is by far the best team I have seen. The people voting obviously are not paying attention to them.

Coaches vote on these and it is very hit and miss.

Agree with vbsideout. I think this organization needs to do a better job of promoting itself so that way more coaches can join and nominate their players. I don't think it holds much weight when you say you're an all-state player when not all players all throughout the state have been considered. I remember a few years back when two very deserving players from Scott City (both of whom are still playing in college) were left off the all-state list because their coach didn't submit their stats. Just my two cents.

The organization is not the problem. They contact all the coaches in the state, and their website provides information as well. Lazy coaches who don't join the organization or promote their players are the problem.
And most coaches do not vote in the rankings. A committee of coaches from around the state determines the rankings, but most coaches do not have a vote. That being said, I think that the rankings this season are much improved over the past. Although you're always going to have some people complain no matter how accurate the rankings.

Northland Christian is in the Quarterfinals. Their last 3 victories are 2-0 sweeps over the #3 North Platte, #7 Lutheran KC and #9 Mound City. Next up is #1 Santa Fe. This is the unknown, but I think it will be a great match and Santa Fe should not take them lightly.
