Quarantine over for players?

For anyone not wanting to read the entire article. Some major points below;

"Under the updated guidance, proper mask wearing may now prevent individuals from being identified as close contacts in K-12 schools that have implemented a mask mandate. This means that if both individuals at school – the person diagnosed with COVID-19 and the person exposed to the positive case – have masks on and are wearing them correctly, the individual exposed does not need to quarantine. "

"Exposed individuals should self-monitor for symptoms and stay home at the first sign of illness. They should also continue to wear a mask at all times to further reduce the likelihood of transmitting the virus. The person who tests positive for COVID-19 is still required to isolate at home. Close contacts in K-12 schools should continue to quarantine at home for 14 days if (1) their school does not require students and staff to wear masks, or (2) the mask was not being worn appropriately by either the person diagnosed with COVID-19 or the person who was exposed. "

So masks are the magic elixir? How long until the deep state tires of not being able to keep up with individuals through facial recognition software? I would say two more weeks, but even making fun of that mantra is dated at this point as they transition to 4 to 6 weeks under Biden administration control. smh

You know what's wonderful about the "deep state?" You can blame it for nearly anything, without ever having the actual burden of proving its existence! Then, you can call people "sheep" who don't conform to your (supposedly) non-conformist worldview! It's like a blank check for conspiracy theorists!

It's the exact equivalent of the Hillary Clinton's "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy" nonsense. That's probably just what they want me to think, though. I'm clearly incapable of rational thought.

Yea in feb CDC says masks are useless,,,,then in the spring you should wear a mask to protect others,,,now a mask is the secret to protecting yourself and keeping healthy

Makes me pretty sure the experts don’t really know crap about what they are talking about

Look dude, I've seen Enemy of the State at least 15 times so I'm kind of an expert here.

Thanks Doctor Bosko...now explain the difference between Pabst Blue Ribbon and Natural Lite...you know, something you know more about?

This doesn't really help athletics...at least for a kid that tests positive on a team. Whole team still likely to get popped, unless they're wearing masks in practice. I'm not playing a team in masks though. That's just weird. I need to see a kid's facial expression when he chucks a 3 off the side of the backboard. It's the little things in life.

That's a frightening watch...Says the guy that watched it...Yet still has the following on his home wifi
  • Owlet baby sock and cam
  • Five Alexas
  • Four TVs
  • 3 phones
Big Brother probably gets exhausted hearing me try to talk my wife into allowing me to play more golf or for more money for the expensive bourbon or rye.

It's almost as though scientific consensus evolves as more information becomes available. I hate that. Doctors should still be treating illnesses with blood letting. Never change medical recommendations - ever.

But you do, right? Because that is what you are implying here. I know this is sometimes difficult to accept when something goes against a person's particular worldview, but scientists change their theories based on the available data. This should never be seen as a bad thing. It's the only way that science can progress.

When a person is ignorant on a topic, they often over-simplify it in their mind, not because of anything malicious, but just because they don't have enough knowledge to have an informed opinion of it. The key word here being "informed" because everyone is entitled to have an opinion, some are just inherently worth less than others.

I know my favorite thing in the world is when people who have no clue what they're talking about pontificate loudly and publicly how I should do my job, and I would be willing to bet that you are the same in this instance. I just know that it brings me joy when people with no training or expertise in my field declare that I have no idea what I'm doing and that I should do it this other way. Are they automatically wrong and to be ignored? Of course not, but they are certainly automatically unqualified.

Skepticism is good and healthy, especially when it comes to government agencies, but it should also apply equally to the people in the government that we agree with if we're interested in being completely honest with ourselves.

Let’s see, something brand new comes along (we’ve never seen a pandemic of this particular virus). Should we go with what they initially advised, or go by what has been learned over the course of nearly a year now? Should we be happy their opinion changed, or should we be scared $h!+less if they were still giving the exact same advice as they were six months ago?

It’s getting worse people. Masks may not help, but what’s the harm? Or they may help a little or perhaps a lot, and your decision is not only putting yourself at risk, but potentially others if you happen to be carrying it.

Masks are like seatbelt it cost you nothing to use but could save you or somebody else's life

Well stated. You are more patient than I.

The problem many people latch onto is that the initial recommendation to NOT wear a mask was not actually based on science. It was based on fears of inadequate supply chain.

So the shift to wearing masks are now necessary was not a change based on some new discovery but rather a change back to common sense away from a lie that was no longer necessary to tell.

So we are listening to a guy who got it himself because he wouldn't wear a mask? He has a science degree. I thought he farmed and went after criminals.

We have had airborne viruses for eternity,,,and masks for 100 years. I would think the use of a mask to combat airborne viruses would be pretty cut and dried by now one way or another

Why did they not say that instead of lie to us??? They should have said “everyone needs to wear a good mask,,, we don’t have enough to supply everyone, you need to make your own and here is how to do it”

That I would have maybe respected and listened to

Hard for me to have much faith in people who change their tune every 6 weeks

I did CPR before school this year. It has changed since the last time I did it. Were they all liars before or did they re-examine the new evidence?
