Parkway North.....why will they win Class 4?

There is no doubt about it, the favored team in class 4, hands down is Kearney. They are the defending State, camps and they look really good. Can they be beat. Yes. But you better bring your A game.
It is good to have you back Flint. What is your prediction for this Friday. Harrisonville by 21?

Stamp it.

Strength of schedule wise, the 3 best teams in Class 4A is Kearney, the Webbies and Cape Central, at 13.7. Parkway North would be 4th at 9.9.

You didn't include an important word: left. "The 3 best teams 'left' in Class 4 ..."

If you include all Class 4 teams then Parkway North's strength of schedule is right in the middle of the class.

No more stamping. I really thought my boys would beat your Webbies. Maybe next year.

Of the remaining teams in Class 4A.

Parkway North is a giant compared to Parkway West or Hannibal.

I think PN will get to state. I haven't seen them play in person, but I did a preview on them in the begininning of the season and coach Bunton was very excited about this team and you can see why now. Their offense wasn't really clicking midway through the season up until week 9 against Pattonville, who had a very good offense.

The Vikings defense remains quite steadfast and it was impressive on how they beat their rivals Parkway Central 37-7 in the district finals.

What is North's stadium like. ..pics I have seen show no visitor stands?
The game is gonna be at West.

But to enlighthen your curiosity I can say that North doesn't have stands on the visiting end, but they have a hill which is actually a nice view and plenty of standing space below.

West's stadium has a nice sized home stand and two medium sized stands on the visiting side. Better conditions I'd say.

Keep underestesmating Parkway North.

They are the best St. Louis team in years from Class 4.

And didnt a Class 4 Stlouis team beat the Webbies in the dome a few years ago? Clayton I presume.

If by a few you mean 12...then yes....in OT...with a future NFL pro bowler.

I have a feeling he is asking about North's stadium because of a trip planned there for the weekend of 11/18 to watch his Cardinals.

You may be thinking of MICDS in 2011 when they had Michael Scheer and several good athletes around him, including at QB that went to Dartmouth. Webb won by two touchdowns in a great high-scoring game.

Stamp it.

If WC doesn't win by 21...call mission control. Harrisonville lost to Platte County by 49, and Excelsior Springs 17-18 (#5 team in District 8.). But WC and Harrisonville both beat Pitt 28-7?

I don't know enough about Parkway North to assert that WC or Kearney would just walk over them but I find the idea ludicrous that Parkway North is a lock to beat either team simply because they are a good team (that couldn't win Class 5) and by moving down to Class 4 they are now suddenly the team to beat.

WC (and probably Kearney) are likely not where they have been the last few years but they have been there/done that plenty so PN will show neither anything that they haven't seen a lot before.

Good points...
Agreed, Kearney is not as good as statistics may suggest but good enough to win against a more talented team if any doors are left open.

hope so much North plays Webb , if Webb wins then without a doubt they are superior
in every way to win in a down year and St. louis football even when a great class 5
program drops to class 4 and still can't get to the finals we are bad. Trust me Parkway
West is not a real good class 4 team.

In what way was Parkway North a great Class 5 program??? They have ONE semi final appearance since 2002. Have not gotten out of a district that has produced two semi final appearances and one final appearcance (2012/2013 semis, 2013 State: Parkway Central) since the switch in 2012. Parkway North isn't even the best program among the Parkway schools, let alone a former Class 5 Power now in Class 4. Could this year's team be legit? Possibly. But they have done nothing in the past that says otherwise until they do something on the field.

I think Webb or Kearney would have beaten them last year too, when they were class 5. They have demonstrated they can compete regardless of class. This year may have been a "down" year, but they are still the two favorites to make it to the championships. That says a lot about those programs.

Kearney was in the Class 5 semi in 2013, and ranked #2 in Class 5 at the end of the year. That was in a year that Webb was walloping Class 6 teams. Parkway North v Webb. I can't wait. Webb...don't fumble the ball and win this by 21...in a WAY down year.

Jarius Byrd I think at QB?

Ended up playing DB @ Oregon and then went on to play for the Seahawks I think? Not sure.

I remember watching that game against Clayton in the dome.
yep heck of a game. Tied and went to OT, Clayton scored, then Webb scored and went for two for the win and came up 6 inches short. IF we could have caught a pass that game would have beat them bad lol

Yes he played QB and Safety for Clayton. Went on to play at Oregon and then was drafted by the Buffalo Bills where he won defensive rookie of the year and now plays for the saints.

Dont want to rub it in but Webb is not Webb yet this year. Not sure theyll get there. Level of play is not at semi final level typically found in class 4 mo. Just an opinion but gets the point across.

Parkway North field is great plenty if seeding and a great hill to seat on. Don't worry
about going to West they are not that good.

Sorry Webb guess I know little more than you guys think. Sad thing is Parkway North is class
4 next year. Harrisonville will get beat.

If Parkway north is playing sophmores and freshman this year then next year we will see. I've always thought Kearney was the team to beat this year but I give the WC coaches and players a lot of credit for improving as the year went on to give it a run. It was the first real rebuilding year in a while and while it has been a while since WC hasn't played in the semis going from 0-2 to district champs over a very good CJ team is still an accomplishment.

Webb did well and yes North is young. Doesn't manner they just reload, now they are
class 4 totally different mind set. Huge difference between good class 5 teams and good
class 4 teams.

Kearney's record vs. Class 5 teams is excellent in the Jones era. The two best markers are 3-1 vs. Fort Osage and 6-4 vs. Staley. Fort won it all last year and I'd bet Staley has a great shot this year.

Thats fine but I don't see 1 St. Louis school from class 5 to class 4 there is
a reason North is the first one to do it that was a quality class 5 school.

Not sure using the " I don't see any St. Louis schools " line in multiple threads in defense of others listing Kearney and WC wins against higher class teams is a argument..... Kinda proves the others point....StLouis Teams aren't consistently as good as the west.....seeing that "we don't see any" being listed. If they were consistently good then there would be a constant presence.
Problem is PN had to drop from C5 to C4 to become successful. Kearney and Webb could move from C4 to C5 and continuously be ranked as top programs.

Kearney and Webb are both down this year from a "talent" point of view yet still manage to make the playoffs.

The "East" might very well win "this year" but the "West" will be back no matter what.

All KC state game coming for Class 4
Fingers crossed you are correct! My gut feeling is it will be a split just no way to know which NWMO and which StL area teams will advance.
