Parkland shooting commission recommends arming teachers

I cant think of one teacher I ever worked with that I would like the idea of them having a gun in the building. We had one principal who was in the Army Reserve that I would have trusted.

I guess growing up in a rural school I never thought anything about seeing guns in school. It was not real common but not uncommon to see a couple of teachers bring in a new hunting gun into the classroom to show off, and kids would also bring them onto campus. Lifetime sports we had 12 shotguns that you had to carry across the campus to load the bus, so you could cross town to the firing range to learn how to shot. Yep they taught us gun safety right in the school. We learned how to load clean assemble a shotgun and some older rifles, oh the learning to shot skeet that was fun. I remember old Chief teaching us, she was like in her 80's I thought back then. They even taught us how to use a bow and arrow, holy crap was that fun.

I’ll use your answer when you asked me why I don’t want a wall on southern border ... likely never happen.
The wall is to prevent something that happens every day! You are asking how to prevent something that hasn't happened and likely won't. Tiny difference.

Yeah, everyone had a gun of some sort in their car and we got our gun safety course taught in the cafeteria. The idea teachers wouldn't participate is laughable.

You’re talking about something (a wall), that’s not likely to happen, as well. Yes, tiny difference.
In addition, just because something has never happened doesn’t mean it never will. Who would have ever thought we’d be calling Donny Trump the POTUS?
