Any pre-season favorites? I will have to go with Joplin. I do not know much about the talent there, but coaching alone will put them at or near the top of the conference. Ed Miller does an outstanding job and is definately one of the top soccer coaches in the area.

Gotta go with Joplin also to head up the loaded Ozark Conference.

Good call on Coach Miller. I remember a couple of years ago it was rumored, on good information, that Ed was headed to MSSU to head up their program. I guess they couldn't come to terms on a contract. I can't believe he is still at Joplin High. The Eagles are very fortunate. He is a great coach.

I remember those rumors as well. MSSU made a terrible mistake not signing him. What were they thinking?????

Yes, Joplin is fortunate. The Driver kid was a stud but beyond him, Coach Miller has succeeded with minimal talent in both programs.

To me, that is the amazing thing. He not only does a great job leading the girls, but he also is the varsity boys coach. I am fired up to get this season under way. It will be a tough journey through the Ozark Conference, but it ought to be very exciting and I think Coach M will lead the way to another Ozark Conference Crown!

Rolla will roll everyone in the Ozark. They were the best team in the Ozark last year and got everyone back. They lost in the state semifinals by a late goal by Nerix Hall who was ranked #1 in the nation at the time.

Re: You're leaving out the Miller factor in your thinking...

Rolla may have talent but Joplin has the edge in coaching.

Re: You're leaving out the Miller factor in your thinking...

Coach Howard from ROlla got coach of the year for Missouri last year, he must be pretty darn good. If he has more talent than another team, he will not be "outcoached" to a loss. I expect it to be a 3-0 game in Rolla versus Joplin this year.

Aren't you guys leaving out Marshfield? I hear that they are stacked. Catholic will be tough too.

Re: You're leaving out the Miller factor in your thinking...

No disrespect, but I would put any of these teams up against Joplin:
Rolla
Catholic
Kickapoo
Glendale
Ozark

When did...

...Catholic and Marshfield enter the Ozark conference?

All I know is that Coach Miller's intensity is unmatched. He is a master at getting the goal tended and getting the most out of his talent. I will never forget the first time I watched a team coached by Coach Miller, I left there thinking "wow, now that is a coach that knows how to get the job done."

Re: When did...

if you love him so much why don't you marry him?

Just kidding.

I would actually put all those teams up to Fulton because Fulton would be a very tough challenge but this is a Ozark Confrence fight so I guess its up to those teams.
