Northland KC Dominance?

I don't know a lot about wrestling but I grew up in KC. Just curious if someone could tell me how the Northland became so dominant. When I was a kid Oak Park was extremely good(as well as Oak Grove down south), and then Park Hill and Platte County took the mantle for a long time, then Staley, Kearney, Liberty.
Just wondering if it is the youth program or coaches moving around or a second generation coming back. Truly astonishing how many state wrestlers there are in such a small footprint.

While I can’t completely answer your question, I will mention that having Coach Mayabb back at Oak Park makes your area tough as hell in regards to wrestling. He is considered one of the best wrestling coaches in the Western Hemisphere. Definitely- it’s a blessing that he’s here in Missouri and you guys have that access to knowledge in your backyard so to speak.
