Checking in at No. 13 in the Rivals.com Missouri Top 20
listing of the top Division I talent in the Show-Me state is DeSmet (St. Louis)
running back
Malcolm Agnew. Agnew, a 5-foot-10 inch, 180-pound running back played
a key role in the Spartans 12-1 post season run a season ago.
Agnew led the team with 17 touchdowns, he also rushed for
904-yards, averaging 9.8 yards-per-carry. With 4.41 speed in the 40-yard dash,
great strength with a 290-pound bench max, and a 430-pound squat max, Agnew is
an outstanding combination of speed and strength.
A Rivals 3-star recruit, Agnew is listed as the 42nd running
back nationally and currently holds at least seven Division I offers from
Colorado State, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon State, Southern Illinois, Virginia,
and Wyoming.
Agnew recently visited Oregon State and talked with
BeaverBlitz.com. "Yes, the Beavers are still number one on my list," Agnew
said. "I am looking for a good family atmosphere and a place where I feel at
home. Since I'll be going away far away from home, I want to feel at home
wherever I go."
"I really like Oregon State's family atmosphere," he continued. "That is how you
win football games, as a family. I can definitely see myself in Corvallis,
definitely. My family also loved the town and Coach Riley and we know that I'll
be taken care of with Coach Riley."
Agnew is currently visiting the University of Virginia with
additional visits on the horizon.
With Agnew's future and college up in the air, his present is
very certain. Agnew will be an important component of a DeSmet squad that
has at least 5 Division I prospects and their sights set on another playoff
season and trip to the Show-Me Bowl.
