Matt Buha left MICDS to take Webster job per David Kvaidahl Tweet.

That’s a crazy turn of events, he had quite the program brewing at MICDS.

Definitely seems odd to me for sure. Webster Groves does have great tradition though. I think MICDS will be a sought after job no doubt.

the real question is when MICDS pays double extra for J-Rod, Jasper or another SWMO coach, does this board melt completely down or how does that work?

I’d think MICDS may be in a great position to hire someone like that for a reasonable salary. The guys you mentioned are already drawing a full retirement and have earned it well. If the support, the facilities and talent is there at MICDS, they probably won’t have to break the bank to hire a good coach.
There are a few who do financially (fairly) well in coaching/education, but I don’t know anyone who entered the career counting on it. Signing that teaching certificate isn’t usually done by people in it for the $.
Then again, it’s quite possible I don’t have a clue. It’s a theory to consider, however.
I have no idea, i was just stirring the pot. MICDS has the support, facilities and based on their record the last 4-5 years a some decent talent.

I don’t know anything either, of course.
MICDS/Country Day is, without question, a bastion of tradition and history in MO HS football.

Trivia Question!
What Hall of Fame NFL coach led Country Day to a state title as their BASKETBALL coach?

Their facility and campus are mind blowing, its the size of college campus, that has to be a selling point for sure.

Yep. If I had an extra $90 grand laying around that's where my kids would go.

Not there yet unfortunately.
120k, for 4 years, but 100 percent go to college per their website. I have friends who have kids who have go there, apparently its a very challenging school, my understanding is kids find college easier than the high school.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. $30k a year for 3 kids

At one point, when my son was in middle school, he thought he needed to go to MICDS (apparently, he’d been there too many times as well).

After hearing this a few times, I finally asked him to choose - “Do you want to go college or do you want to go to MICDS? Because I can swing one or the other, but both is out of the question.” Never heard another word about it.

Don’t get me wrong. Great place, great reputation and I’ve known some great people through competing with them. I guess I can put it best with this little fable:

I had a course with a lovely young lady back in undergrad school. Her family had lived in LaDue for ever and she went to one of those all girls’ Catholic schools that few can pronounce correctly the first time they read them. Anyway... we get to know each other over the course of the semester and we got along famously. Finally, I was walking with her after class and asked if she wanted to go out that weekend.

She was visibly excited and almost seemed relieved I’d finally gotten around to it. So, equally relieved, I asked her what she would like to do.

Her reply: “May we go out for cocktails and to dine?”

Sure! No problem.

Little did I realize that grabbing a bottle of Jack and cruising over to White Castle wasn’t anything close to what she had in mind.

The morale of this story is when you’re eyeballing the bottle of Lafite-Rothschild Bordeaux, but the checking account balance screams “Bud Light!”
...get the six pack.

Maybe you should have asked to borrow duck walks jacked up el Camino....might have sealed the deal!

Things have a way of working out for a reason. I’ve been blessed with a spouse who is happy and agreeable whether I can spoil her or not. Thank God for that.

Funny. After getting the pleasure of spending a day in ISS with one of the Bobs and coincidentally that afternoon in detention(both first, both only one day assignments, two different reasons,) my eight grade year, my mother sat me down at the table that night. Thinking she was raising a heathen she threatened to send me to St. Pius. She could have told me San Quentin and it would have been the same reaction.....Never did get in too much trouble after that....
