So cruising maxpreps I seen an article talking about IMG Academy. So knowing the year after year top 10 rankings I looked up the school. Is this school an actual high school.? Seen some of the alumni and seen that they were already high school graduates when they enrolled. So wasn’t sure if it’s an actual school or not. Any info to quench my thirst of the confusion I read will be appreciated. Thanks all.

Webb City lost a pretty talented qb to them last year . He claimed he was going there to rehab a back injury and would return. He didht lol
I believe he did come back, maybe I’m mistaken though. But if I remember correct he was actually third string when he came back and never took a varsity snap.

There are a lot of articles on IMG. I think from what I understand, the state of Florida high school associations will not let IMG play their schools. So they travel all over.
That's what I was wondering. Is why they were allowed to compete and be ranked as a high school team where they aren't that. Thanks for the replies. As I was reading about their schools I was becoming more confused.
They have Grant Wistrom as an alum. That's where I first noticed it. Because I graduated the same year he did and my cousin was in his class, I was at his graduation. Are any of the other large schools you see on maxpreps doing the same thing?
They do have high school teams. So they are a high school in that terms. I don't know about all the other stuff. If you were to Google it you can find a lot. I did one year.
They field 2 teams and the one that gets all the press is the 'Blue' squad who plays 80% non Florida schools and not eligible for the state playoffs. The 'White' plays 95%+ Florida schools and is eligible for state playoffs.

Friend of mine coaches there, the Blue team is the National team, White team is the Varsity team.
Yeah because if I recall the one I referred to was a sophomore like 4 years ago. He would have graduated by now. But hey, I don’t pay that much attention to the names unless they get playing time at Webb.
He's a junior this year . He's still on img roster on max preps . I don't know much about him other than he was the the starting qb for Webbs freshman team and he was a pretty big kid . He hurt (maybe even broke his back) and went there to rehab it because they have great facilities for that if you can afford it . I saw a few highlights of him on max preps throwing TD passes for what I presume to be their JV team

Not sure why but I really thought that was like 3-4 years ago, I’m old. But unless he can run the veer he might as well stay down there. And you know Webb isn’t a program where the kids with a big head ever do well. They bond and play as a team for years and you don’t just come back your senior year and expect to be handed the starting job because you went to IMG for a few years. Not saying that’s what will even happen though, JMO.
I don't known anything about the kid personally. I know he's a junior this year and was pretty good when he was at Webb . Plenty of YouTube videos on him at Webb as an 8th grader and freshman . He didn't move bc of ego or anything like that ...he did it to rehab a back injury . Webbs current qb runs the option really really well and he probably wouldn't be the starting qb for us but I don't know that for a fact . I'm just pointing out that's where he's at and why he went .
He's on the roster and has a few videos on max preps playing for them . I think they have a few squads and I'm guessing he's on the JV but I honestly couldn't tell ya

Yeah, I get that totally. You hear lots of things in a place like Webb especially about the athletes. What is true and what isn’t we will probably never know unless you know the kid personally. I do know we have a hell of a sophomore QB coming up with a heck of a pitching arm and he’s already getting snaps on Friday nights and showing his toughness and drive. So we will wait and see what happens, this kid probably has no desire to come back to Webb after being in a place like IMG that costs $60k+/year.
