They better if they wanna win more than 3-4 games a yearAre they gonna change leagues by then?
They better if they wanna win more than 3-4 games a yearAre they gonna change leagues by then?
No doubt. That "league of death" seems to be getting deeper by the year. They better if they wanna win more than 3-4 games a year
The league has gotten so much better it's not even funny ..first several years Webb would turbo most if not all of them . Everyone was playing for second . Last few years Webb has more state championships than coc championships. I can't remember the last time Webb won the coc ? It's been a long time . I don't think webb has gone downhill ...I just think the league has improved a lot and there isn't a talent gap anymore. The Springfield half should continue to improve that area is growing so fast . Nixa is going to be a perennial powerhouse, Republic I think is about there . Ozark just needs a spark to trigger that sleeping giant . Joplin has finally harnessed their talent pool . Carthage has been good to great for 2 decades and keeps improving with time .....even the " bad teams" like neosho have spent a ton of money on new stadium, new indoor practice facilities etc and they are improving . Branson and Willard has no excuse for being as bad as they are . I don't understand that . Cj has a indoor facility as well . I actually think webb is in the minority of not having an indoor facilityNo doubt. That "league of death" seems to be getting deeper by the year.
OP will have a good record going into the playoffs because of their putrid schedule, regardless of what class they end up in. But if they are in 6, and they will be, I don’t foresee district going well for them. I’d love to be wrong though. Not winning in C6 without a good passing game, either. What I saw of OP last year was all about the top notch RB. Given how MSHSAA rates teams they could get a higher seed but C6 is beyond top heavy again this year (that LSN, LN, CBC triangle in particular).
They will be the "unknown" in a C6 KC district.OP will have a good record going into the playoffs because of their putrid schedule, regardless of what class they end up in. But if they are in 6, and they will be, I don’t foresee district going well for them. I’d love to be wrong though.
Agree on Bransteitter being a P5 prospect.Peppers and Thompson are studs. I hope their playcalling is more creative. I'd bring in an extra blocker and use a tight end this year with Peppers being the centerpiece. If he gets past the line he is extremely allusive. Brantsteitter is a huge loss for any defensive line. Took up so much attention from offensive lines. I expect him to be at a Power 5 after his JUCO stint.
You'd think Fort could recruit some of the talent away from BS, GV, WC or Truman but I never hear of that. If OP gets bumped C5 will be down in KC. I saw GVs All District linebacker already tore his meniscus.
Eureka (90% sure in Class 6), Francis Howell, Joplin, Rockhurst, Rock Bridge, and SLUH as well.

No. The 8th grade class is loaded. The 6th grade class is really good. I am just counting when 8th grade class will be sophomores. Are they gonna change leagues by then?
Does Webb now have two turfed practice fields? I actually think webb is in the minority of not having an indoor facility
Who all are you thinking about? I can come up with CJ, Nevada, MC, Monett, Bolivar, Hillcrest? Who am I missing?I think there are 8 class 4 teams in SW Missouri now. I would have no problem if they formed a league. It would make a lot of sense for CJ to not have to play up every single week and it would make sense for the class 4 schools in the Big 8 to not play down.
Marshfield?Who all are you thinking about? I can come up with CJ, Nevada, MC, Monett, Bolivar, Hillcrest? Who am I missing?

Agree 100% with that assessment. Last year the COC was very good and I think most teams will be similar if not better than last with the exeption of Carthage. Not saying they will be bad, but there is no way they will be as good as last year. It will be a tough year for a rebuild. The league has gotten so much better it's not even funny ..first several years Webb would turbo most if not all of them . Everyone was playing for second . East is cooping with Northeast from what I understand. Southeast is cooping with Central. Lincoln Prep is only solo left in the disintegrating IL.Also, for Class 5 I have McCluer North and Holt joining Class 5 and have removed KC East (no district icon listed on their schedule...not sure what's happening there) and I have St. Mary's in Class 4 despite a two-class jump. Apparently their enrollment decreased significantly so I think they could be Class 2 raw number and bump to Class 4.
Have seen and heard zero about Lincoln (Benton County) as of today. Prospects for 2023?I hope your version is correct
They lost a lot a big talented Senior class.Have seen and heard zero about Lincoln (Benton County) as of today. Prospects for 2023?

Add to that, if CJ were to head North again, Center's HC resigned and their best returning player transferred. This will be the best chance they’ve had to get past their district in quite awhile with WP making the probable bump to Class 5
If my count is right there will be 8 class 4 teams in SW Missouri so who knows where WP would go if they end up class 4.By these numbers, West Plains would be the smallest public school in Class 5. Wow.
They are only 70 yards each I think but they do have the old stadium lightsThat is pretty sweet.
They wont beat Joplin - Joplin is stacked this year - but they will be a force come playoffs in C4.Are they gonna change leagues by then?
Need to find 4 COC wins for a 1 or 2 district seed and even that is tough. They wont beat Joplin - Joplin is stacked this year - but they will be a force come playoffs in C4.
I thought we cured this back in 2002 but MSHSAA apparently disagrees.NKCSD found a way to keep Staley C5 for years, you'd wonder if they found a way to do that for Oak Park knowing that change was possibly out there for this year. I'd like to see them stay in C5 as I think they have a very good chance this year. Crazy to think in C6 that the biggest school has 400+ more potential players to choose from than the smallest C6.
