"We
are going to be a lot different than we were last year, where we had one guy
lead us in scoring, rebounding, and assists", commented Oak Ridge head coach
Adam Stoneking.? The system of one leading scorer worked
well for a club that finished 23-6, falling to eventual champion Scott County
Central in the district final.?

"We return 3 starters, 5 total varsity player, and 5 kids from a JV that went
17-1 last year", added Stoneking.? We have a lot of size for a class 1
team, with? four guys 6'3 or taller, and we are very deep." Seniors
Jacob Light
and Kyle Rohde return, along with junior
Corvin Schoen, and sophomores Ryan Below and Jake LeGrande.?

While many teams look to their seniors in scoring roles, Oak Ridge can count on
Below, who is just a sophomore but lead the team in scoring over the last half
of the 2010-2011 season. A balanced attack will be an advantage this season for
a club that features many who can put the ball in the basket. "We have a lot of
unselfish players on the offensive end and our kids understand that we must have
a defensive identity to win championships". added Stoneking.

On defense they will utilize their match-Up zone.? The fourth year of use
in the program has helped the players become very comfortable with knowing their
assignments and roles.

"Our kids understand that you have to be able to play great defense to win games
on a nightly basis."

"After finishing 2nd in districts for the past two years, the kids are ready to
take that next step in the playoffs."? It looks to be a great season in Oak
Ridge!
