MSHSAA

Take away the equal sharing component of the Organization and you might very well end up with all the Midsized to Smaller schools forming their own association and funding it and leaving the Private and Huge schools to do their own thing. In fact that is really what should happen.
Sure. Do it. Good luck paying the bills.

Why are the meetings and Votes not open to the public? How do they get away with it? The Public funds MSHSAA so how do they get away with being so secretive?

It's a private organization. 90% of its funding does come from the member schools. But that makes it no more "publicly funded" than the football helmet manufacturers that schools purchase from.

Comical, but translate that cluelessness to issues of actual education and that is where the overwhelming majority of board members are on any issue involving education.

If you doubt me, show up to a random board meeting at any rural school. It's pathetic.

A while back, when textbooks were still used, I was at a board meeting where a textbook was chosen for a high school social studies class because it was "more attractive" than the alternatives. Two of those alternatives were the pick 1 and pick 2 by the textbook adoption committee. Overruled.

Except they did it the exact same way last year: BG was district 7 / Northwest region was district 8.
Lamar was District 5.

2021 a similar story, northeast was districts 6 and 7, northwest district 8. Lamar did push into District 4 that year.

Clearly they are doing more of a North / South vibe but there's an abundance of schools to the south.
Bowling Green was opposite Lamar last year (as it should have been).

Last year's bracket was well done.

We could just go back to the point system completely or have 4 team districts lol
I was referencing the 'switching' brackets.

Also, the current system is 'pretty good' if you would get rid of the bonus for playing 'up.
So many bad teams out there. Just pick one for a boost.
If sagarin can do it , so can MO.

Per MSHSSA, admission tonight (11/3) is $6 and wonder how much if any of this goes to MSHSSA? TIA

State governing authority regulating your ticket profits? Then your Booster Club needs to pick up the slack in other areas to make sure you turn a profit. It's really that simple
State governing also controls all of the TV and streaming rights for the money too Bosko! Not only that but their streaming services does not work 90% of the time with no refund!!!!!!

Again, then it falls on your Booster Club to pick up the slack so your school turns a profit at these home games. You'd be shocked at how easy you can monetize something

My question was how much of the $6 went to MSHSAA? Not how to turn a profit at the games.
The booster club at Valle always supports Valle.
