I know they are greedy at MSHSAA, but this horrible. I would love to watch many games in KC and around the state like I do now on a Friday night. But to pay $10 a game is ridiculous. Is it because of revenue or crowd attendance. With that being said, is there a package where you could all the games, not just one game at a time? Now I am crazy enough where I will probably pay for a few games, but I wish I could have my own "Red Zone Channel" where I can go from game to game like I do during the regular season.

unfortunately there is no package deal. At MSHSSA they were never thinking that people would want to see a bunch of games so they left it as 1 game at a time price. So more importantly, use the Missouri scorestream scoreboards at Mid MO Sports Online Live Scoreboards and you can then monitor all of them at once and then hit up a radio version of a game online (its free and plenty of them out there this week) if you see a game that is close and worth listening to from the live scoreboard and continue to monitor the scoreboard for other action. That should help your Friday night craving for #fridaynightlights

Meanwhile I can watch Illinois, Georgia, Texas, Ohio, Iowa, etc playoffs for free. An all inclusive package should be offered. $20? Heck I’d pay $50 for every postseason game.

Someone posted their financials here a while back. Maybe you can get a link to that. It's disgusting.

How many employees are they up to now? And what the heck do they do?

5 to 6 million cash on hand? Are they building a new stadium?

They continue to do it for the community. Most volunteer their time for it. They know there is a need in the community to be able to see the game via the web and so after the regular season they will continue to broadcast. They do not like with MSHSSA doing that to them but their hands are tied and rules are rules.

This is partly why I developed a statewide scoretream scoreboard page. instead of having to hop from stream to stream, people can just bring up that page, see all the scores, and then they can pick which game they want to pay for (video) or turn on the radio broadcast (free)

I'd just announce 'hey we love you guys and appreciate what you do for us but we aren't going to do all the work for the fat cats up in Columbia and watch them line their pockets. If this causes an issue or you have a concern, please contact your school administration and/or MSHSAA."

But i'm not shy

When you have a regular stream where a Class 2 / Class 3 school has 180 - 450 people watching it on a regular basis (even on home games) the need is defnitely there. They want to keep their customers happy and sponsors happy, so they will continue to operate.

I understand the situation you're in.

It's a shame we even have to talk about this.

not my situation. I don't do the streaming. I just support it with all the scores they want. The people that do it, do it because they enjoy it. Its a community that supports the school and their athletic organizations heavily.

same in my area. I can't see our guy shutting it down either. I'm not sure how many he has watching weekly but I'm sure it's a bunch. They do a good job with the production and have some good info.

Just a shame MSHSAA screws them out of that revenue when the viewership is bound to go up.

Ultimately, I place the blame on the schools themselves. They should have revolted at this and forced change to the system. This isn’t happening without their support, or ambivalence. If the schools revolted and demanded change, it would happen.

An easy solution would be for MSHSAA to charge a broadcast rights fee for all postseason broadcasts.

The broadcaster would then go secure the fee from a local advertiser and stream the games for free for the viewer.

Now I know why the Ste Gen/Dexter game was only on DragonTV for 6 minutes:) Forgot MSHSAA is charging.
Score then was 0-0.

Paid for two games. Could see nothing.
In the real world this is what we call 'fraud'.

I know people signed up for one of the 8 man games and the normal streamer didn't even tape the game since they get so few people to pay for it.

Miller beat Drexel to go to their 3rd straight final four in Volleyball. The live stream of the game messed up in the second set. Several people tried to get their money back and they said it was the school's fault and to contact them. Mshsaa wants all the money and none of the responsibility of putting out a decent product.

If they paid on their credit card i'd dispute the charge.

Shady stuff.

Hope you enjoyed the trip through God's country!

and file a report with the BBB and the State of MO.

Totally agree with other comments about disputing credit card charges for the streaming of games. If they are forced to pay enough refunds maybe they will put some effort into their service. Until then they will keep charging for the service and if their product doesn’t work, who cares

Does MSHSAA prohibit curricular broadcast journalism, A/V production classes from continuing to broadcast postseason contests?

Students behind or in front of a camera, editing and production of games, pre and postgame shows. Classwork for sports entertainment/marketing/entrepreneurship selling and creating advertisements/commercials for local and regional businesses. Is MSHSAA not allowing that or is the collection of $10 streaming fee an exchange for their services to go on?

It's a large scale grift.

People work their tails off to give us this content all year then mshsaa says 'we'll take the money'.

These are OUR players not MSHSAA's.

Someone should find out how much they're pulling in on these games.

Bet that'd open some eyes.

Calling the Central number tmrw lol jk, but MSHSAA is a joke. first they take streaming away from schools who makes profit off Streaming networks, or youtube.

Second, you only have to purchase digital tickets to enter the district semifinals and district championship, and the rest of the playoffs, i called that a major fraud. Only game that should have digital tickets is for state championship games since games are not play at schools.

And if football is the same as volleyball, in the sectionals and qtr finals, the tickets were $8 plus a $1.50 service charge and the host school doesn't keep a cent....all gate goes to MSHSAA.

For a non-profit it sounds like they are bringing in a lot of revenue that they literally do nothing to earn.

The service charge is how the "partner" that provides the system gets their cut. MSHSAA doesn't pay anything to roll out the digitial ticketing system that everyone hates. Fans pay it in the form of the service charge.

To be fair I don't know this as fact but I have done enough business in my time to know this is how things like this work. You can easily sell a company (MSHSAA) on your product (digital tickets) something if you can convince them of a benefit (direct control over gate fees) AND a way to pass 100% of the cost on to someone else (service fee added to regular admission price).

yeah.....I paid $40 to park at Busch stadium on 10/2 and they charged a $2 service fee:)
