Apparently the Kansas City Wizards have been talking to Ray-Pec about using Panther Stadium for home games for the next few seasons as the team waits for a soccer specific stadium to call home. The link to The Star article is above, but some highlights from the article:
-Additional bleachers would expand Ray-Pec from 4,800 seats to 9,600.
-The school district has already been asking local and state officials about the possibility of selling beer at a public high school (for Wizards games only, of course)
-School district would ask Wizards to share in the costs for upgrades of locker rooms, track, and stadium.
-Among more seats, field would need to be widened to fit soccer.
-Why Ray-Pec? The Wizards need a place with natural grass, adequate parking, and a north-south field for tv lighting.
So what do you think?
