Springfield has become a hotbed of national basketball prospects in the Class of 2021. Joining Anton Brookshire (Kickapoo) in the national rankings, Greenwood shooting guard Aminu Mohammed guided his team to the Class 2 title in 2019.
Mohammed was named MBCA Class 2 Player of the Year and earned Gatorade Player of the Year honors and now in his junior season the recognition continues to grow.
Mohammed has exploded to an impressive No. 12 in his class and grabbed a No. 2 ranking among shooting guards in the most recent Rivals.com Class of 2021 position rankings in the nation. Offers from Florida, Indiana, Kansas State, Louisville, and many others have been extended to the guard from Southwest Missouri.
As a sophomore he averaged 34.2 points and 17 rebounds per game at Greenwood and this season he has been dominant again helping his team to the No. 1 ranking in Missouri.
