Genuine, humble guy. One of my all time favorites.

So sad. One of the most unique coaches ever. Loved his clips explaining strange things like favorite mascot and wedding advice. Always hoped he would come to Columbia and lead Mizzou.

One of the best things I've seen the past few days was a story from an assistant from Tech who overheard a telephone conversation he was having. Went on for quite a while. Even lost connection, closed his flip phone, redialed and continued. Afterwards the assistant asked him who he was talking to, and Mike said I don't know, it was a wrong number.

That describes several high schools in my old conference. Then the rich school turned the heat up in the visitors locker room when it was 75 degrees outside.

One time Mike Leach told one of his players that he wasn’t going to play, probably at all, but that he’d like to have him start coaching as a student assistant. The kid got pissed and left his office. Came back the next day and took the job. That was Lincoln Riley.
