Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was in attendance @ the Webster -Champaign Central Game last Friday evening. The famous coach from Louisville was scouting Webster's outstanding 6'4" Junior guard Courtney Ramey and 6'6" Tim Finke from Champaign Central.
Metro's conversation with Rick Pitino started out with an introduction. Metro ask the Louisville coach about their interest in Fred Thatch ( Jr ) from Sikeston, Mo and Marcedus Leech ( Soph ) from Poplar Bluff, Mo. Coach Pitino then Told Metro, '' That he never heard of Fred or Marcedus.'' Metro looked Pitino square in the eye and said, " Roy Williams and Bill Self " have made visits to Poplar Buff showing their interest in Marcedus Leech.
Coach Pitino looked over @ his asst coach and said, '' Have you heard of Fred and Marcedus?'' The asst answered " No, " I have not." Metro looked Pitino in the eye again and said, " Your asst may need a little help when recruiting players from Missouri ". Pitino smiled and said, " Do you know anyone who could help my asst coach with the top-level Missouri player?" Metro looked Pitino in the eye again and said, " Of Course."
I recommend Cory Fraizer, the " National AAU coach of the year. Cory coached the St. Louis Eagles to the National championship this past summer and will be coaching the St. Louis Eagles again this summer.
Coach Pitino said, " What's your name? I said, " Metro Dude ". He then instructed his asst coach to write down Fred and Marcedus's name and their high schools. He then wanted more information about Cory Fraizer and wanted Metro's number.
