Southern Boone Head Football Coach Opening

The Southern Boone School District is seeking a new Head Football Coach for the 2022-2023 season. Previous Head Coach, Trent Tracy, has been named the Activities Director for next year. Southern Boone is a Class 3 school located in Ashland, MO; 15 minutes from Columbia and Jefferson City. We have a 4,000 square football weight room (16 racks) and a 3,000 square foot locker room. The community just recently passed a bond issue to install a new turf field and track (field construction will begin next summer).

The teaching job of Weight Training/PE will be tied to this coaching position. There are also the potential of multiple weight training stipends associated with this position along with other coaching openings.

Don't have much prior knowledge about the middle of the state. How is Southern Boone football historically? I know they have decent facilities compared to others in the state but not sure how the culture is in these areas

Middle of the pack average program for the most part. Had some good teams and some not so good teams in the past. They have the worst facility in their conference though but that looks to be changing. Southern Boone's future really depends if Columbia population moves south. More suburban sprawl and watch out for them.
