A lot of schools in the KC area are having their students and teachers wear masks this fall. Although I’m glad they allowed football in most places last fall - I think it’s asinine to demand masks during the school day and allow contact sports as soon as school is over.
One of the silliest responses to covid last year was in wrestling. After competing in hand-to-hand combat the two wrestlers couldn’t shake hands after the match…

Don't listen to the folks on here. Osterholm and plenty other docs and scientists have said masks (the ones we wore and how we wore them) are completely ineffective. You obviously don't do research on how this virus works. "IT" knows when you are participating in an athletic event or sitting on the bench waiting to participate in an athletic event. "IT" knows if you are a referee and have a whistle in your mouth that it needs to stay away but if you are a fan watching these events you are free game. Smart smart virus. It also knows when the event is over to go in full attack mode so that is why athletes wave instead of shaking hands. Do some research before posted such uninformed comments. This virus comes fully equipped with a meter stick and a stop watch. Get too close for too long and it goes full rage mode.

I really enjoyed NCAA basketball how players would put on a mask and sit in 6' spacing squares when not on the court. But it was apparently safe to get up in everyones face if on the court. It was just comical virtue signaling.

One thing I learned over the last year was how pointless so much of it was in terms of induced hardship and results, especially the whole lockdown/non-essential business etc mentality. The ridiculous rules and attempted controls of movements like mask here but take if off when doing A or B, walk this way down the grocery store aisle, etc. That press conference with the health official explaining the detailed procedures to play tennis "safely" was almost satirical.

At least Obama's birthday bash relied on some logic... the guests were "sophisticated and mostly vaccinated" so covid was not a concern even in an area of high infection and without masks. And if you are on team blue, the best way to ensure masking isn't necessary is just to keep cameras away.

I Just went to a funeral of one of my best freinds, covid got him he was in his 40's prime of his life left behind two kids....I guess to some he is just that very small 2 percent that die from it.....hell again it is just less than 2% who are dieing from it...right?... just an everyday virus..right?.. He put up one hell of a fight but I don't want to go out like that, 30 days he fought with all he could.... Man I have seen my freinds mothers and fathers die, I lost an uncle. I have several other good freinds right now who are currently on vents and everyday on social media somebody I know is asking people for prayers for a loved one who has been stricken by covid. This covid crap makes no sense to me I have others who got it and hardly had any affects... I have no clue about this crap and I am not going to pretend to even understand it!! I guess everyone is going to do what they need to do, All I can say is stay safe out there...and hug your loved ones as much as you can.. you never know when it might be your last... and just try to keep things in prespective...

True...it is 1.8% that die from people that test positive in the United States. Clay County is running at 1.53%. However, 98.5% if all deaths are people over 35. In my personal circle I have known three people that have died from COVID. One was 56, one was 38 (and it happened fast--like he was out eating pizza on a Thursday and he was dead the next Tuesday) and another was in their 80s with multiple comorbities.) I know two that died as a result of complications from the vaccine shots. And two people that have been hospitalized and missed out on weeks of work due to complications from the vaccine shots. its wild when i read this stuff. I know probably 50-60 people who have got the vaccine with 0 issue, including myself. Its just so crazy to read when people know people personally who have been hospitalized with it, or know so many people who have died. I have had a couple of friends lose older (80+) parents, I guess my circle is mostly vaccinated or lucky.

What does that have to do with the effects of COVID, what it does to you based on health issues, and things being true regardless of the emotions and concerns people feel about all of this. I’m sorry if literal statics upset you. One of the many reason this is about done on my end is how emotional this topic is. It’s factual that MOST people who die who aren’t elderly have heart issues they don’t know about, or lung issues, there’s a lot of issues even “healthy” people don’t know about. People can have heart conditions and be world class athletes. You should do some research before getting emotional over someone pointing out literal truth. We are very unhealthy as a nation. This is bared out since the virus started. Like most infectious viruses the elderly and compromised people are effected. It’s here, we are living during it, it’s time to live out our lives. That’s the over arching point. But I’m glad you are threating someone else would “beat my ass” that’s a grown man argument for sure.

2020 flu dropped 97% from previous years. Look it up. Ive tested numerous for covid at work, always test twice, number of opposite results is staggering. Just like the drop in flu. Amazing how people will follow the herd right off a cliff.

its wild when i read this stuff. I know probably 50-60 people who have got the vaccine with 0 issue, including myself. Its just so crazy to read when people know people personally who have been hospitalized with it, or know so many people who have died. Yes, we have learned millions of obese and unhealthy people have died from this virus worldwide and thousands and thousands here in the states. We knew before hand we were one of the most obese nations in the world. But a virus that effects those who are unhealthy more so then other? (It’s astronomical, but you stick to emotions) It’s really taken effect. Anyways, have a good one. And I’m sure his family who isn’t dead loves to hear the way you are defending his honor, when no one was attacking it. Was by talking about beating people up. Lol

Another person had $4,500 in emergency room visits and nerve damage causing motor control issues and an inability to work as a chef, DUE to the vaccine. And another person died 4 days after the vaccine--age 56. Funny how we blamed every death on COVID when a death occurred (even with multiple co-morbidities,) but the same people are going to extreme lengths to disprove the vaccine as a causation, when it has a DIRECT causal link to a death or injury. The fact is that 50-60% of the deaths counted as COVID deaths were people that were likely to die within 6 months regardless of whether or not they had COVID. But that 39 year old mother of two--had nothing that would have taken her out. The vaccine did that.
