Marshfield open

Thornhill from Aurora has accepted the job
That seems like a lateral move…? Right?
Aurora was good and young if I recall from the Blue and Gold. And Marshfield was… well Yikes. And you can win the big 8 if you’re decent…. Rogersville is going to win the OM conference for the next decade it looks like.

Better pay? Closing in on retirement, maybe trying to get that retirement up…

Pipeline at Marshfield is pretty ok. Couple of bigs coming. And that’s rare in SWMO. And other than his son, Aurora was pretty meh

He went from the Big 8 to the OMC right?
Yes, I'm saying going from a job that you have a chance to win a conference and district title year in and year out, to a job you have no chance to be even in the top 1/2 of the Conference and District in is a head scratcher. I get it that its a small bump up size wise, but its not a huge jump, not enough to warrant all the losing your going to have to endure. IMO.

is his son good enough to help marshfield compete immediately? I heard he was within a couple hundred points of Auroras school record.

How many head coaches has Marshfield had in the past 10-15 years? Seems like a rather large number. ...
J.C Carter was the coach for 2 or 3 years around 2012. He is now the associate head coach for West Virginia woman’s basketball.

They have had in recent years they have now had Adam Thornhill, John Cherne, Tony Armstrong, Damon Sieger, Adam Carpenter, Tom Stokes, Geoff Cooper and JC Carter.

And those are just the ones that I can rememberTBH because I haven't been following it much. I might be leaving someone out off that list.

That might be the norm in HS basketball these days, but not at schools that are trying to be serious.

Good luck to Adam, he's a good dude. He's spent a lot of time in that general area and I'm sure he knows the recent history there better than most.
