I'm out of the country on assignment a few more weeks and was wondering if the birds got plucked as bad as the score indicates? My connection in Birdville indicated it could be a long season for the feathered ones and that so far there is no tar involved! Please let me know ! Great day to be a feathered one!

Chillicothe was definitely the better team all night long, though it wasn't a blowout the entire way. The Hornets were up 14-7 at half, but the second half was all Hornets. They were able to run the ball consistently, while the Owls had a tough time handling the power attack.
The Owls passing game showed promise at times, and QB Maupin had a long TD run on an option play. They'll face another tough test next week when Smith-Cotton comes to town.

Closer game than score indicated. Marshall had trouble getting a running game together, (except for Maupin's 45 yard td run) but had success with the pass, especially in the 1st half. Looked to me like Chilli may of worn Marshall down a little in the second half. Maupin played well, and I thought Marshall's #17 freshman receiver had a couple of nice catches. Hey thanks for the information 1a_all_the_Way and KCHI. I sure thought the game would of been a bit closer, but to end a half down by a score isn't to bad I guess. Does anyone have any outlook on Fridays game against Sedalia ? I betting if the Owls can get that passing game going it should be a close one! Go Birds!
