Major news out of WC

You mean, hand out my pickleball BEAT DOWN!!
Bosko is in his off season training!

Bailey is the only one who will keep it going at 90% plus of what it has been. Anyone else will be a decent drop off.

Possible scenarios, I am hearing from friends and coworkers that live in Webb

In House hire
#1 Best option and all the webbies I have talked to number one pick. Scott Bailey. How could you pass up all the experience and success he has had. Only negative may be How long does he have left until he retires?
#2 Ryan Mcfarland Has been at least in name the OC. Head coaching experience. However, didn't have a ton of success at least by Seneca standards.
#3 Darkhorse- Probably the most unlikely scenario Long time assistants Aaron David or Trey Derryberry. No head coaching experience with those two, but seem well liked and respected with many Webbies.

Outside Hire (a few name i have heard thrown around)
#1 Aaron Hafner (Branson Coach) was Webbs Dc at one time. Runs an option oriented offense,
#2 Marty Rodgers (Defensive backs coach Southern Illinois) Outstanding player at Webb. longtime college assistant coach.
#3 Chad Depee (Formerly Ozark Head coach) probably only because he is well respected and runs an option offense.
#4 Neil Philpot (Girard Ks head coach) Was a Pitt state Assistant and Webb City has had good luck with former Pitt guys.
#5 Todd Hafner ( Former William Penn university head coach) brother of Aaron, has ties to the area.

Other Option
Roderique Retires as Athletic Director but comes back just to coach. I could see this happening.

Whatever happens, it will be interesting.

Marty is currently the head coach at John Burroughs.

This seems like the obvious direction to me with the least amount of risk, I don't see them going with anyone else. I've been saying this since he was hired. Mac or Derryberry could very well do it but Bailey is the only one that HAS done it. Bailey probably won't be in the saddle for another 25 years but maybe 10 and unlike any external hire he already knows the kids, the system.

He presents the least amount risk in ability, change, potential culture/personality/style shock to the system.

I heard Coach Nickerson was looking at some local homes for sale.

What about former Webb player and assistant Rich Adkins, had success as a coach and is the current AD at Seneca?

I didn't realize he was in Seneca now. Yeah he's as much in the discussion as many of the other names tossed around especially if they are looking at a hybrid AD/coach position. I imagine he like many other Webb grads would jump at the opportunity to go back home.

Not sure how he was at Grove or wherever he was, somewhere down by Branson I think. He did pretty good at Jasper if I recall. I think he may have only played 1 year for Roderique.

ZERO CHANCE Davied gets it!
As of today, Bailey doesn't want it!
The only person in house that I think gets a chance is McFarland.
I truly don't think they know how many resumes they are going to get for this job and the AD position. They could go a lot of different ways IMO! Should be interesting.

Rich Adkins would not be on my list for that job at all. I know less than nothing, but I would put that one in the "snowballs chance in hell" category.

He was solid at Grove and had them trending in the right direction, but I don't think he left there under his own accord or on his own terms.

The idea of him retiring as AD and then continuing to coach is definitely a possibility. Maybe he is on the fence about it. They can see what options are interested and then go from there. That seems to be a recent trend in places.

His letter said he was retiring from both positions.
That is how it has to read. He can retire and start drawing his retirement and then after a set number of days he can be rehired to just be the coach.

Not saying that is what is going on, but it could be a possilbity. That is what happened at West Plains with their long time girls basketball coach, and I know of a few other places that has happened.

Again may not even be close, but it is something guys are doing and it makes sense if you can basically double dip while continuing to do the coaching part of it.
