Among the most successful football coaches in the history of the state and nationally Bob Shore has had an amazing run at Camdenton High School.
In more than 36 seasons of football, Shore has guided the Lakers to 367 victories, second in the state behind Ron Holtman (Country Day) and Pete Adkins who guided the Jefferson City Jays to 405-60-4.
Prior to the 2010 season the stadium in Camdenton was named in his honor, Bob Shore Stadium. Shore and the Camdenton football program were recently profiled in a documentary film about the program entitled, “Rise of the Purple Tide.
During the Shore tenure, Camdenton has enjoyed 55 first team all-state selections, five state championships, 24 district titles, and five conference championships. The Lakers have advanced to the state quarterfinals or better 17 times including last season.
Shore delivered a major announcement today as he announced to players at Camdenton that he was stepping down as the head coach of the Camdenton football program.
