Understand. My point was more in reference to bringing Rodrique or Bailey to LN and how much more of a difference they would make. Reed did win a state title last year. More so just disrespect to Coach LePage and his staff. Ted built the BO program and others were able to sustain it. If he would have stayed and never left for JC he might 5-6 more titles. We will never know. We saw the Bailey experiment at JC didn’t work out as planned.

JC couldn’t be coached to winning by any coach so that’s not a good metric. Lamar always had some good football players capable of being coached. I don’t think JC is the same situation. It’s a culture problem.

Also, never hurts having the best players in the town all decide to play for BO. They have to be coached of course, but that’s what made this all possible.

But I get you, a conversation is still possible though. I know crazy. But I think JC record and massive coaching turnover speaks for itself. So I’ll allow opinions though. But I’m working on facts. I can confidently say I do know this based on things we can all see.

Yea, not gonna get into culture of JC program because you or I don’t know. My point again was Coach LePage would have beaten LN whether it was Reed, Rodrique or Bailey coaching them.

Please Someone who spends hours on the MSHSAA website and neglects their family:::: will this push LN down to Class 2? Im hopeful, not wanting to get grossly out coached by BO a 3rd time. Can have all the talent in the world but if you apparently refuse to Adjust 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

I understand the argument from both sides.

Stryk thinks LePage doesn't get enough respect for the kind of coach he is, and I agree. Had he not went to JC and been at BO the entire time, he would be talked about in the same light as Rodrique and Bailey, and I personally think he should be even now.
In LePage's last 6 years at BO he is 72-5 (94% winning percentage) 6 conference titles, 6 district titles, 2 state titles (going for a 3rd title in six years this year). 4 of the 5 losses were to the eventual state champs or state runner ups. He is the coach that turned the program into what it is today, it was a really bad program before he took over. Of course he would be the first to tell you none of this matters to him anyways.

I also agree that if you put Roderique, Bailey, LePage, Bouchard etc., at a program like Lutheran North they would pretty much be unstoppable to any Class 3 public or private school. I would also put them up against anyone in the state. There are other coaches I've missed that you could probably insert here too.

I think most on here would agree that LePage is a great coach (and in my opinion one of the best in the state). And if Lutheran North had a top level coach they would be pretty much unstoppable.

That being said I don't want to make it sound like I don't think Reed does a good job. I think he does a lot for those kids and puts them in positions to succeed after high school. That guy pours his heart and soul into those kids and I respect him greatly for that. I just think there are better overall coaches than him, but he still is a pretty good coach. You can tell the difference in scheme, fundamentals, and discipline, between them and let's say a Cardinal Ritter or Trinity Catholic.

I have nothing but admiration for how hard, how smart, and how disciplined Blair Oaks plays the game.

If someone were to add up all the recruiting “stars” from both teams, no doubt LN would be the overwhelming winner.

And yet, Blair Oaks dominates anyway.
Pretty awesome this game can still be won on teamwork, execution, selflessness, grit and a great game plan.

(I wouldn’t recommend taking LN on in a track meet, however)

I've never seen someone take their lumps as graciously and hilariously as @BPcompete. Kudos to you sir. Excited to see all of the LN kids playing at the next level over the next few years.

Yea a couple years back I used to be on here having serious arguments, pulling race cards, and being a menace. Once we won that title last year Ive been in the honeymoon phase 😂😂 we’ll go at it again next year.
