Looks like back to back Years the KC Metro area will be shut out. No State Champions. May not even have a KC team make the Championship game.

I hope Calpreps makes blankets to keep you warm during the cold Missouri winter nights.

Could be if DeSmet can win. Remains to be seen how they play on the road this weekend.

Lathrop, Odessa, Platte County, Staley, Raytown could all make the final.

I asked first.

Its the little guy complex. St. Louis has been an ass crack in football for years--they would occasionaly do okay in Class 6.. Lately (the past four years), they have had great success with one private school, CBC. They've also had some small privates (See Cardinal Ritter posts.) Haha. THeir public schools still suck donkey d, but at least they have a small few teams they can hang their hats on.

Odessa is a good bet. Staley, Raytown, and PC very average. Not saying they can't beat another average team.
Agree on Odessa. The issue for the Staley/Raytown winner is drawing the Jackson/Eureka winner who will be my C5 favorite going into the semis. Platte County is inconsistent but the potential is there for them to compete with the top teams in C4 just not sure that happens this year............

Jackson is not an issue. Platte County could blunder their way into a championship. If they do, they will get turbo clocked.

They have to get by Grain Valley first, though. Eagles should have won their first matchup.............

The GV team is OK I guess. Smithville beat the snot out of them. Generally, the teams on this side look down to me. Raytown is goofy. Staley looks small. NKC got worse on defense as the year progressed.

Nobody is what we got used to years back: complete both sides of the ball. Honestly the closest I have seen to that all year was last Friday night but even the red hot Ray-Pec Panthers showed vulnerability that will be fatal this Saturday.

Smithville had some fantastic athletes especially the Miller twins BUT that Grain Valley game was back in Week 3. I put lots more stock in how teams look beginning circa Week 7. Grain Valley has a very good D but the O is admittedly inconsistent. Raytown is actually one other team that seems to have finally found its identity. My question with them is O and D lines vs. the outstanding ones they are about to face.

Exactly!
