We already talked OL so...

Whats your thoughts on 4-3 vs 3-4 base scheme.

I like the 4-3 at HS level to stop the run first and dare teams to win through the air. Especially in the cold weather Missouri playoffs.

If athletic and fast 3-4 gives you a little more speed and creativity, so does depend on players to an extent.

I think the 3-4 is a little more adaptable. You can basically have a 4-3, 4-2-5, 3-3 stack, bear, etc.....IF you have at least one OLB who can be serviceable with D line responsibilities. Having said that, though, you really could do the opposite with a 4-3 DE who was athletic enough to have OLB responsibilities. So, I guess it’s just about preference.

3-4 can become an headache against teams that run 2 TEs and just want to run the ball. 4-3 gives you a little more adaptability to the run and the ability to cover teams in pass if you can trust your MLB to be an adequate run stopper. 4-4 is nice as well if you are playing teams that are run only, and pass only out of necessity. I personally prefer the 4-4 or 4-3 at smaller schools.
