I would say no. You take a kid who made his first varsity start ever 6 days earlier, has snapped a football probably less than 400 times his entire life, and put him in a complicated offense with a 300 lb D1 recruit in front of him in the championship game, I would say he did a pretty good job. There are seniors who have been snapping for years at bigger schools who would have struggled in that game. It wasn't a perfect game but, I think he did an amazing job considering the circumstance. I doubt Bailey is losing much sleep over the center position.
Complicated offense. Hmm. Not sure I agree with that, from a Center's perspective.

There are 3-4 different people he could be snapping the ball too and some of them are on the move. Complicated may not have been the correct word but it does add an additional element to the mix that may not be present in a straight shot gun or under center offense.

True. Never thought of that. That would be a downside to that offense, having to have backup centers that are used to executing the snaps.

I regret bringing it up (sincerely); was just acknowledging that the very fact that Bailey had to go to a kid that had never snapped before (a fact that I may have mistakenly assumed was well known) was enough to say that Center was a concern...

I think you were and are correct that center was a concern. When you lose your starting and backup center, it definitely is a concern. Team Tiger is also correct in that the kid did an outstanding job, stepping in and doing what it took to be ready to play. While I would have preferred that the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of those boys was left out, it is worth mentioning that the starting center, after being dismissed due to a rules violation, owned up to his mistake, took the responsibility for his actions and proceeded to help his own replacement get ready to play the semi final and state championship game. The kid was a senior and missed his last two games but demonstrated the kind of unselfish character that we strive to instill in our kids. Kids screw up but when this kind of stuff happens, you end up being proud of them, all over again. Somebody get me a tissue...

This is so touching it might be illegal. Or at least immoral.
