Lamar did not look like Lamar at the Jamboree. Cassville up on MacCo 13-0 at Half. Lamar barely beat MacCo last week and Seneca destroyed Cassville.

Wilkerson has yet to play. Also, first year player Pittsenbarger who was great last week in pass coverage is out. So yes..

However this East Newton qb is legit. Great arm. Accurate. Slippery. Will be curious to see Lamar’s adjustments.

Score of that game was deceiving. Yes Lamar went flat and gave up a score, onside, quick score. But it was still a 3 possession game late in the 4Q, again without Wilkerson, who is likely the best player for Lamar on both sides of the ball.

Injuries for a small school can be devastating. Lamar has been without Wilkerson for both games. He is a differance maker on both sides of the ball. Could play some next week vs Tipton. Also, their top wide reeiver/defensive back is out vs East Newton. And their best running back was out last week and played just a few snaps against East Newton. They should be better once those three players are back to full strength. The game against McDonald Co was 32-14 with 20 seconds remaining. Gave up 15 points on back to back plays in the final seconds.

This Lamar team has a lot of room for improvement. Don't write them off just yet. By playoff time, they could be a tough draw for anyone in Class 2.
