A nice article giving a little insight on what Brentwood brings to the table. With Brentwood's schedule it's hard to tell just how good they really are. Their one loss is to a Class 3 school(Orchard Farm) who MaxPreps ranks 18th in C3. The Big 8 has three schools ranked in the C3 top 20 (Monett, Cassville, Mt Vernon) all of which got worked over by Lamar. I feel like with them only dressing 24 players Lamar's depth alone should be enough to give them the edge, but I guess that's why they play the games. Should be good, cold, football weather

Lamar's depth just got a little shorter. I heard that 6 players were dismissed from team for violating team rules. If so, Next man up. Rules are rules.

Never good to lose people, but I think the next man up will be just fine and you won't see much/if any fall off from the regular starters. Hate to see boys let a silly mistake end their senior year, but I am glad we have a coach in place willing to stick to the principles and set the tone for the rest of the team and the players coming up in the future.

Well Said, Great Job Coach Bailey! Both starters are good players and deserve to be starting but the players replacing them are equally as good but, lost out to the seniors as they should have. In this case the next man up would probably be the first man up for most small schools in the state.

Hats off to Coach Bailey for sticking to his word...And it's shameful the noise the parents are making over this mess...Your kid knew the rule, and broke it. End of story. How about you teach them that there are consequenses for their actions, instead of making excuses and expecting the coach to make an exception for you/your kid. And while we're at it, let's thank God that we're not all at a funeral...

I have seen Brentwood play this will not be a game. Brentwood might be the 5th best
class 2 team in area. Trinity and Lutheran North are head and shoulders better. Brentwood
was better last year they lost 3 kids that are playing college football. Lamar could win this game
by 28 with backups. Brentwood runs a nice offense but lack of depth really hurts their off and
def lines just not enough kids to field solid lines.

The names I heard was a couple sophomores a junior and two seniors. And that the underclassmen were never welcome back. Props to coach Bailey for sticking to the rules, even in the face of sponsors.

Anybody going spill the beans of what happen?

Heard the opposite, they are all welcome back next season.

Kids do stupid stuff. This doesn't make them bad kids. None of these kids are bad kids. The rules are clearly stated at the beginning of the season. The parents and the kids all have an opportunity to question or challenge those rules at that time. There is a reminder, in the end zone after every game. If you know Coach, you know this is tearing him up. He put himself in a position to have to make this decision when he removed all possibility of perceived compromise or favoritism, should one of his players step across the line. I'm positive he prayed that he would not have to enforce it. Every year, some kind of situation arises that challenges what being part of "The Brotherhood" means. This just reinforces the meaning of putting the team above self. Coach is taking heat for his integrity. That is bull crap. If you are a parent of one of these kids, you need to back off and be a parent. It's not about school policy or MSHSAA policy. It's about a coach clearly laying out the requirements for being on and staying on his team. Period.

Go Tigers.

Not to worry Lamar fans your second team could beat Brent wood. You will need the
majority of your best players to beat Trinity or Lawson. I really think class 2 championship
will be the most lopsided game of the finals in all 6 classes.

Good to hear that there is accountability! There should be consequences, for actions. The stiffer they are, the greater the impact will be for those involved. This is an excellent opportunity for those kids to learn a life lesson.

Do mean lopsided in Trinity/Lawdon's favor, or Lamar's favor?

It will be close between Lamar and Maryville for biggest blowout in my opinion........................at least at this point.

Well, maryville had trouble with center so I wouldn't count on them to blow anybody out in the championship.
Center was a very special team this year. By far the Jackets will end up being the best team MVille faces............
