First off, the backup quarterback is throwing a more accurate ball than anyone expected, which is a huge plus, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets more and more snap's.

Theo Grace had a fantastic performance, playing all over the field. He was also dominant at fullback, delivering massive hits, and could very well end up as Defensive Player of the Year. His versatility and physicality stood out all night.

The sophomore class really showed out. The Stucky twins, both sophomores, are already looking like future stars. The RB twin was especially impressive, showing serious potential to dominate the next few years.

Aiden Aerrelona was another standout—he might end up being an all-state safety this year. He was everywhere on defense and made an impact all over the field he should have had two picks but was a force nonetheless.

Grant Noland is showing why he's considered one of the top players in 4A. He was excellent on offense and has the potential to pick off a few passes in the playoffs, especially given how quickly the pocket collapses around opposing teams qbs.

Isaac Beaver is a force to be reckoned with. After his brother went down with an injury, Isaac stepped up and played like a man possessed. He was everywhere, dominating on both sides of the ball. His performance was so impressive that I heard 250LB 35 year old men in the stands saying “that is a grown ass f’ing man, glad I’m not out there”

Minnick had a few tricks up his sleeve too. Using Theo Grace at fullback was a great move, and it reminded me of his brother’s style of play who plays Fullback at Oregon. But then, he put one of the Beaver twins at fullback, and honestly, it was the best high school fullback performance I’ve seen in 50 years of watching football. Anyone who was at the game saw something special and I would encourage you to track that play down.

Kearney’s offense is powerful, especially with Theo and the Beavers in the backfield. They could run over the rest of their schedule with that kind of physicality. If they continue to play this way, the rest of their schedule could end up in thr E.R.

Minnick clearly knows what he's doing—he understands that to repeat as champions, Kearney needs to bring a level of physicality that’s unmatched. And when this years team turns it up, it’s something you don’t see at any level of high school football.

Kearney is explosive. Their players are next-level, and the kind of impact they're having on defense, particularly with the Theo and Beavers, is something you have to see in person. If anyone hasn’t watched the film yet, I highly recommend it, especially to see how dominant these players are.

Looking ahead, Kearney’s going to be a serious force, and I wouldn’t be surprised if bodies are carted off the field in their next big matchup. They’re playing with a level of intensity and power that will be tough for any team to match.

Kearney 44- Savanah 0 pts vs Kearney starting defense but may score on the backups.

Kearney starting D is giving up less than 3 pts a game this season and that’s with games against park hill, NKC, grain valley and fort Osage.

Spoke with my guy at park hill he thought Kearney had the team to turbo Liberty.

THREE Northland teams having very special seasons: Platte County, St. Pius X and Kearney. Now two collide...................cannot wait to see it Friday.

Rambling as this post is there are a few good points especially this KMO HC but I've gushed enough about that guy to power KCMO and surrounding environs for years.

I REALLY like someone else giving the JR backup QB some love. That kid, thrown into near impossible circumstances last year, hit the pass that sealed the Fort game. I call him a great insurance policy.

Kearney fans should now root for Warrensburg and their dynamic QB to revenge Pleasant Hill (was 21-14 Roosters in the regular season) which would mandate Lutheran North traveling to Kearney Thanksgiving weekend.

the violence displayed by Kearney’s offense when #1 was blocking was legendary. Minnick knows exactly what he has and I would expect to see 2-3 of those fast 250LB fullbacks the balance of the playoffs

Is this AI generated?

Observation: scoring 44 points a game

Starting D giving up net 9 points this season. 30 total points minus 21 on pick 6s That’s < 1 point / game.

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, you are about to witness the greatest football team to ever step foot on a gridiron, hailing from the most legendary town in Missouri — Kearney, the birthplace of the infamous Jesse James!"

"In this town, where history was written in the blood of outlaws and legends were forged in the fires of rebellion, a football dynasty rose, one that would forever change the face of the sport. They weren’t just a team; they were a juggernaut, a force of nature. The 1991 Kearney Tigers — a team that would set the bar higher than anyone thought possible, and leave every opponent trembling in their cleats."

"Now, let me tell you, this defense? THIS DEFENSE is a wall of destruction, a tidal wave of pain that could not be stopped. The 85 Bears? You better believe they were good, but Kearney’s defense? It’s better, folks! These Tigers played with a ferocity that would make a lion think twice before stepping on the field. The linebackers? Faster than a bullet from Jesse James’ pistol. The defensive line? Stronger than the iron bars that once held outlaws in the Old West!"

"Quarterback? Forget it. Running backs? Ha! Kearney’s defense would shut them down before they even had a chance to blink. You could try to pass, but you wouldn't get the ball past these cornerbacks. And if you did? You’d need to pray the safety didn’t pick it off and take it back to the house for a pick-six."

"But wait! There’s more! This offense? Unstoppable! Led by the greatest trio of fullbacks ever to play the game — the legendary Hammer brothers: Jack 'The Battering Ram' Hammer, Charlie 'The Bulldozer' Hammer, and the insane force of nature, Big Ben 'The Avalanche' Hammer! These men didn’t just run the ball; they DESTROYED everything in their path. With power, speed, and sheer will, they plowed through defenses, crushing linebackers like ants beneath the wheels of a steamroller!"

"And when those fullbacks weren’t plowing through the line, you had the quarterback, Bobby ‘Thunderfoot’ Thompson, delivering long bombs to receivers who ran faster than Jesse James could rob a bank. A team built for both power and speed, a dynasty forged in the spirit of the Old West."

"So, whether you’re talking about the unstoppable, untouchable defense or the devastating offensive power led by the greatest fullbacks to ever play the game, Kearney’s Tigers will forever hold a place in history. The legend of Kearney, Missouri will never fade. These Tigers didn’t just play football — they rewrote the rulebook and left a legacy that would be remembered as long as the stars shine above the Show-Me State!"

Howz this for some IA?

The Smithville Warriors faced a crushing defeat in a game they seemed to have in their control, ultimately losing to the Savannah Savages in one of the most disappointing finishes in recent memory. Leading for most of the game, the Warriors entered the fourth quarter with a narrow 10-0 lead, built on solid defensive efforts and a few key plays. However, their inability to maintain composure and make sound decisions in critical moments proved costly.

The turning point came after a short punt that positioned the Savages within striking distance, deep inside Warrior territory. The Savages capitalized on this opportunity with a successful field goal, narrowing the gap to 10-3. With just over three minutes remaining in the game, tensions were high, and the Warriors found themselves facing a pivotal fourth down at the Savannah 40-yard line. Instead of opting for a safer and more conservative play, the Warriors decided to pursue a pass—a decision that many would later deem reckless.

The pass attempt backfired spectacularly, resulting in an interception that the Savages returned for a staggering 68-yard touchdown. This unexpected turn of events not only swung the momentum entirely in favor of Savannah but also set the stage for a desperate attempt at a two-point conversion. The Savages executed their play flawlessly, converting and putting themselves ahead 11-10, completing an incredible comeback.

Despite the Savages being outgained significantly—264 yards to 158 yards in the game—and despite the Savages only managing a paltry 55 yards of offense in the second half, the Warriors watched helplessly as their lead evaporated. The loss was not just disappointing; it rang out as one of the most disheartening and frustrating in Smithville history. Fans and players alike were left questioning the decisions that led to such an avoidable defeat, with reflections on how quickly fortunes can shift in the game of football. The defeat served as a painful reminder that in football, every decision counts, and no lead is safe until the final whistle.
