Are those CalPreps or maxpreps rankings? Just wondering. I know it’s not the media rankings, so I figure it’s one of the other two

My PC buddy said he thinks Kearney is better than Smithville, much better. I think I might head to K town tonight.
Kearney averaging close to to 200 yards/game on the ground so far, against teams that were supposed to be great and have been great stopping the run, in the past.
If Minnick uses the playcalling chops he did last week AND the kids execute as flawlessly as they did last week, they win tonight all the way through to hoisting the trophy at season's end. Those are two big asks though. The talent is obviously there.

You think they would beat St.Mary’s? Did they lose enough from last season? Who was recruited in? I’m not sure I’d say that would make them hoist the trophy. Don’t get me wrong though. I certainly WANT that to be the case. Just not share you can count out the new recruitment high in St.Mary’s.

Runner-up at state in 2021 in track.
State champions in 2022 in track. (no points in mid or long, mostly sprint, throws, jumps,--FB players)

I Am a Kearney/Smithville fan this year. i hope Either Kearney or Smithville would beat st mary's in the semi's. i'm will never be a private school fan.

Kearney came up about eight points short of where I thought they would. The shut down coverage on Smithville’s passing game was just what I thought it would be. Another INT and QB with few yards passing. Kearney has to improve on the rush defense. Smithville offense is one dimensional now so you have to stop the run.
The officiating was once again horrendous. It completely dominated the play and changed the course of the game. Both teams had important plays wiped out or drives stalled because of questionable calls.

The officiating was poor. The onside kick that Smithville did should have been penalized. They used a pop up kick that is illegal in high school football. The ball was kicked into the ground and went two yards before it popped up. The officials need to know the rules.
The “pop up” onside kick rule states, “a pop-up kick is a free kick in which the kicker drives the ball immediately to the ground, the ball strikes the ground once and goes into the air in the manner of a ball kicked directly off the tee. Such kicks will be penalized as a dead-ball free-kick infraction.”
Another example of a bad call. It really should’ve been game over at that point
Not to mention the fact that even if it was a fair kick it didn’t go 10 yards it was touched at 8 1/2 yards. The ref shortage is a real thing.

I like the one where they called holding on the Kearny player who had his shirt ripped off
Game was called very tight. I rarely, though, criticize them anymore. Thankless job.
We lucked into home side seats right at midfield and saw this right in front of us (noted on another thread). THIS was extremely obvious.
