Joplin/Webb Who Ya Got???

Wish they had more seating, afraid this is going to be SRO about 30 minutes after the gates open
Totally agree, I may just stream it no matter how much I’ll enjoy the atmosphere. Too old to be standing the whole game
My assessment of Joplin from last night—solid overall with good skill players. Westmoreland is the real deal and their running back is big and physical. Their line play is outstanding. Defense could be a weakness against some of the upper tier teams. We’ll see. Tough to say. I see them finishing out their first year in the COC 7-2.
IMO..... Game should be played at Missouri Southern State University. I remember the 1990 Joplin vs Webb City game when it was played at Southen. Huge Crowd!
No way Id play it at Missouri Southern. Im sorry mosoeagle but the stands stink at Southern, to far from the field. Joplin home games should always be at Dewey Combs sports complex "Junge". Now when Southern blows Hughes stadium up and rebuilds maybe every now and again. Joplin is looking into making the visitors side larger and putting a concession stand over there.
As for the game I didnt see Webb play but did see Joplin, they looked solid but definitely have some stuff to clean up. I think cocfan1212 is pretty on target with what saw last night. I do think Joplin probably left 10 to 17 points on the field last night. Btw Willard is big, thick and strong, great first opponent. This game will be great for Joplin they will get to experience a great crowd plus play a great program in Webb. Win or lose they wont have time to celebrate or sulk because Carthage is next.

I agree Joplin home games should be played Dewey Combs Sports Complex at Junge Field except for Webb City games. Junge vistor side is way to small. Have you seen the way Webb City travels?
I realize it will be packed but Junge still has more visitor seats than WC and CJ. Joplin played at Mo Southern in 90 and I think 95 against the cards, then when it was Webbs turn to be the home team in 96 they played it at cardinal stadium, smart on there part to play it on there home field. Maybe when Moso builds the new stadium.
I would anticipate a fairly high scoring game . Outside of the two first half picks ...Webb scored every time they had the ball against cj . Joplin has the horses to get some points but I can't imagine them getting enough stops to win . Perhaps they can force a punt .....cj never did but we shall see . I think Webb and Carthage are the teams to beat in the COC but Joplin has their chance to change my mind

Seating, hell what about parking? WEBB travels 1000 to Ozark! There should be atleast 2000-2500+ from WEBB attending but with no parking and little seating who knows. As far as the game goes WEBB by 3tds...
Yea I think I may take an Uber just so I don’t have to try to find a place to park where the wheels might still be on my car after the game

Ya and that game they filled the stands on both side at MOSO and the grass hillsides around the field.....it was probably the first time some of those seats were ever sat in...

At the Jamboree, the announcer repeated several times that the east side gates would be open for easy visitor access to the east stands. I see a Bolivaresqe bleacher war coming. LOL
When was the last time Joplin had an overflow crowd? Especially on the visitor side?
It'll still be a game at the half. WC wears the Eagles down and pulls away in the 4th with a 49 to 21 victory. Should be a big crowd and a great atmosphere Friday night.

Everyone has been looking forward to this game for a long time and friday night just added to that with both teams posting solid wins. I don't see Joplin winning this game but they are one of the few teams that I think will legitimately challenge Webb this year. Like everyone else I'm also thinking something in the ~20 joplin to ~40 wc but it might be a 1 possession game until late.
Hosting the game at MSSU would be a win for the fans, particularly the webb fans and the kids might enjoy it as well. But there is NO reason for Joplin to give up the opportunity to host such a huge game. Personally I think Junge is a pretty cool stadium aside from the fact that it's in a seedy part of town. Maybe the schools will consider an MSSU neutral site after each team has hosted?

I wish the local towns would make up there minds, a Carthage guy told me he was rooting against Joplin this season because its a bunch of rich kids. huh bahahaha . Webb fans are scared to come because they will get robbed. lol Boy as an ex Bear man have times changed lol

Thats a good question. A better question is when have the had to defend the veer with a team that blocks as well as Webb does.
