The Jennings Warriors have been defeated 3 times this season. Two of their loses was in the tough Meramec Christmas Tournament ( Webster 43-50 and CBC 51-62 ). The other lose was @ home against Parkway West 50-59. I attended both the Webster and CBC games against Jennings. Most everyone was very surprised and impressed with how well Jennings competed with these high rated class 5 schools.
Jennings has put together 12 wins in a row before the Parkway West game a few days ago. Jennings does not have the height- length that the top class 5 teams have in St. Louis but the Warriors could be competitive against a talented Sikeston team tonight. Jennings or Sikeston will enter district play next week on a high note. I have viewed the " Strength of the Jennings schedule ", their wins and loses but can not give an expert opinion on how competitive the Jennings Warriors really are.
Jennings biggest wins were
1. Hazelwood East 64-62 ( record 14-12 )
2. Kirkwood---------67-65--( record 16-8 )
3. Lutheran South-69-64--( record 18-6 )
The Jennings Warriors have a tough road ahead to compete in the class 4 final four in Columbia.
Jennings will compete in the class 4 district 6 @ Normandy. The competition will be Riverview Gardens who has 2 new players eligible @ the semester. One of the new players is 6'9" and will join Kyle Moore 6'7" ( A St. Louis University recruit ) and one of the biggest scoring threats in St. Louis. The Rams from Riverview has lost one game since the new arrivals @ Riverview, ( That was a two point loss to talented Hazelwood Central )
Jennings most likely will be an underdog to win class 4 district 6.
The Class 6 winner will play district 5 which is flat loaded ( Vashon, Miller Career and St. Mary's. ) Vashon is not a lock in class 4 district 5. Vashon will host district 5 next week. I believe the class 4 district 5 winner will play in the final four.
