How is this guy winning by 10%
I don't believe that it's that large of a percentage of the electorate. I do believe there are several but I believe that view is evolving as more women enter the workforce to make ends meet. There is an easy answer. A lot of people believe that it is right and manifestly true that a woman's highest calling is motherhood. Most of these people got this idea because they grew up this way and their religion supports this worldview. I don't think it's a completely ludicrous idea, from an evolutionary standpoint rather than a "religious" standpoint, given that the vast majority of species rely on the female for childcare and rearing (and acknowledging the few outlier species).

I do not believe that this is the reason he has such a large lead. It still doesn't make sense. He has done almost nothing for Missouri. He has not brought infrastructure money back. He has been the reason the Senate doesn't want to pass the bill for funding the sick people who got poisoned by nuclear waste. He is only running on culture war issues, and he is winning. He is a weak person, who tries to pretend he isn't.
GOP feasts on stupid people.None of these very valid reasons matter. A large portion of the Missouri electorate, regardless of actual policy (given the general public's stark ignorance on policy issues), will vote for him because he isn't a Democrat. He could completely flip policy positions with the Democratic candidate and it would make almost zero difference.
