Elsberry advaned to the Class 3 Show-Me Showdown a season ago and returns a big core of that group. Returning their top two scorers, including 5-foot-11 inch senior guard Scott Kroeger, an all-state selection as both a sophomore and junior and 6-foot-8 inch center Matt Loesing the Indians are loaded and ready.
"Big things will be expected from this group", commented head coach Ryan Parker. "The Indians return 5 of top 7 players from last years 4th place team and add a 6'6'' freshman that will open some eyes."
Freshman forward Kenny Lesley joins a talented group that also includes Kevin Dotson, Brennen Hurley, and Jordan Powell a trio of senior guards.
The Indians will be challenged early in a Class 5 tournament held in Troy and will certainly be the favorites in the EMO Conference.
Most fans were surprised when the Indians knocked Cardinal Ritter from the playoffs a season ago. This year the expectation is to end the season in Columbia.
