I like the kid. It's amazing how fast he can throw it with such easy effort. But you have to be able to throw strikes with something other than a 100 mph down the middle. He's still young enough to develop that and hopefully will. But right now he's certainly not helping the Cards as a starter. It would be nice to have a closer who can blow people away. But again it can't just be all hard and straight or a ball.for the experiment with Hicks as a starter to be over.
I ain't sure he can throw anything that is straight, his movement is ridiculous but he has to figure out how to control it better. He seemed to do that better out of the pen but maybe it was just because we saw fewer pitches. or maybe it's just guys are more patient in the early innings than when they come up to hit trailing in the 8th or 9th.I like the kid.
