They were really good then.

Now, not so much. Other teams are playing by the same rules.

Wonder if that would apply to MO HS football private schools.

People say the same about Alabama football and saban leaving. Once everyone could pay for players he got out. Truth is I don't know but the timing causes the conversation

The pay envelopes and shoe boxes were still passed around in California. It's just a matter of time before it happens here (if it isn't happening already)

This isn't the issue. Self got every player he wanted in the off-season. No one turned him down for more money somewhere else. There are other issues at play.

I disagree. I think he missed on some due to other spots being 'better' due to the combo of NIL and they don't have to live in kansas$.

I follow recruiting very closely. In fact there are 2 freshman who are playing well for other programs that Self told to leave because they wouldn't play at Kansas. His talent evaluation was wrong. It isn't a money issue.

Yes and your right, now everyone can buy what they need. It's what private schools have been doing for a long time. Eventually it will get to public. It has in a way for some big schools. College follows NFL. High school follows college. Unless your a real stud going from high school to division 1 is going to be a thing of the past.

Mizzou is a perfect example of that.. talk about going from rags to riches !

The cheating blue bloods that could stockpile 4-star players don't have that luxury post-NIL.

In FBS football, I hope we'll see four 16-team conferences. No guaranteed spots. A 16-team playoff to decide the National Championship. We could also have relegation bowls where, the lower ranked teams would play the power 5 teams for a spot at the table or relegation to p5..

Kansas has the number 1 pick in the 26 draft coming in next year. Self can still get whoever he wants. He has chosen badly lately.
