I care as much about GA football as i do hockey...

And what’s up with the chicken wire in the bleachers? Reminds me of the Blues Brothers scene where they visit Bob’s Country Bunker.

Gotta love the look of consternation on Bosko’s face in the background.
Trying not to fart I think....

Ok buddies! I was NOT trying to hold in a fart nor is that a like of consternation. I was looking at Coach Nickerson thinking, "If things go right, this could be the coach that brings us back to the state championship. But if he messes this opportunity up, Im running him out of town. Now the chicken wire? That was put up because Ampipe fans can get a bit rowdy and worked up. Just look at what they did to Coach Nickersons house! Anyways, that wire was put up to keep things from being thrown onto the court during basketball games!

This is uncanny!
Alright, web gurus, I have a challenge for you:
My son attends Lindbergh HS. Just last night, he was trying to figure out the origin of their fight song melody. The only thing I knew of that sounds like it is the “We are the CITs So Pity Us” song from Meatballs. (See above)
He swears some college also uses it.
Only thing I could find was that the Edmonton Eskimos use it as well.
Any takers on figuring out where this melody is used as a college fight song?

Raw, you still have a son in high school, Does he play football.....

Wait, does this mean you are in your upper 60's, possibly 70's? I had you pegged as a 20 something that was having a hard time moving past your high school football days. This changes many of your comments from annoying to kind of sad.

Unlike you pansies who forget about high school football when you graduate! Our fan base covers the entire spectrum of age groups! We have a man who comes to the games, who played on the 1951 team that beat future State Champion Valdosta 19-7!

it was '83

Your team was '83 and sucked. You lost the big one..remember the goal line stand? You screwed up. And then you dumped TP on the coach's house with trash. No, your team wasn't near as good as '86. You have yourself to thank for that. Way to go. The '86 team had Jimmy "the Bison" Petrovich, and Joey "Nosleeves" Civella. The defense alone had 6 D1 players and 5 D2 players... future all-Americans. No bro...you were no match for the '86 team...they played some team from Georgia and Whoooped em good. Supposed to be the best team from down there...haha

i kinda lost track of Ampipe teams for a little while after i left. Also, that was when i was playing ball at Cal Poly. On the other side of the country. If that team was so good, where is their documentary?

A documentary? It would be boring. Winning every game by 30 points doesn't make a good drama for anyone. You don't understand the entertainment biz. You have to have something in doubt...drama.

You mean, BETTER than the 1986 NATIONAL CHAMPION, Valdosta Wildcats?:) GEEEEZ, you people are FRICKIN STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...did i miss the playoffs that year? National Champions huh? What other stories of myth can you share with us? Make believe faeries tell you they won that? Back then they had a playoff to decide? Or was that like it was is wrestling...the Kansas City AWA had Bulldog Bob Brown and Harley Race as WORLD wrestling champs...not just national champs...World champs...well of our four state region at least.

Perhaps you cartoon characters would like to consult the NATIONAL archives? The Valdosta Wildcats have 24 state, and six national championships since 1913! And are the winningest team in NATIONAL PREP HISTORY, with 900 plus wins. There have been two books written on their team! They have a museum in the East end zone, for visitors to view. And there has been a 20/20 segment, and a six part series on NFL Network, about the 2016 season!

As an aside, the Colquitt County Packers beat them BOTH seasons that they were on national television. We cost um the national championship in 1989! Both segments are currently on the World Wide Website, for your viewing displeasure!
