How much coaches get payed

Found this on the dispatch today if you type in your district and the coaches name you can see exactly how much they are getting payed its actually pretty fascinating
WHEW!! Booster Club Presidents are not listed.

Sidenote. As according to the internet sleuths here on MoSports report, Greg Jones in Liberty has one of the highest salaries for coaches in MO. I could not find him on the site.....

Jones, JamesLiberty North High School$79,152.00$111,165.00327
Sometimes you have to search by school if the first name is different

Now, I don't know the landscape of St. Louis area football...are these guys just coaches or do they teach and that is what makes up the bulk of the salary?

Those are teacher salaries and I don't think all schools report coaches salaries along with teaching salaries. I know my school does not.

They are listed separately on the site. One is their teacher and the other is their extra duty. There are no hiding taxpayer funded salaries. They list them cumulative and separate. For all certified employees of each district.

Correct. That is what I meant. Note these are last year's numbers.

According to this, Jones makes 40k more than Hood(Park Hill), 30 more than Lite(Staley), 18 more than Frigon (Liberty), 24 more than LSW coach. Some schools are getting bang for their buck.
Jones is also an admin. And level of education matters too. Not uncommon for someone like him, in a district that pays that well, to make that coin being an admin and head football coach. The others you mentioned are teachers, not admin.

I think more and more districts are trying to get away from admin coaching anything, bigger districts anyway.

Not necessarily true... Some districts will make an exception to the rule to hire a head coach. An example would be NKC hiring Fred Bouchard to Staley. By making them an administrator you can sweeten the pot.

Coach B was hand selected to help open that school and start that program, Coach Douglas at NKCHS is also in admin I think. I know it sweetens the pot but it can also cause some conflicts on interest and time. Staley will be on their 2nd coach since Fred and neither will have been in Admin, at least at Staley. Maybe it happens more than I think or know.

You're right...he was "hand selected." But his administrative position was part of the package necessary to get him to take the job. From what I have been told, he was not a particularly good administrator. It does create a potential conflict of interest.

Probably all on how you define "good". I can't imagine Fred was all that awesome at implementing curriculum changes or developing ways to track what teachers are doing in the classroom. But Fred could build a quality relationship with a fence post and empower someone to do their job to the best of their ability. That's sort of a lost art in the day and age where nerds and "high-level" thinkers have taken over.

In no way did I intend for my comments to be personal. I only know of Coach Bouchard. I do know a lot of people that worked with him during that time period so my knowledge of that situation is sound. It simply is not a good idea to allow a head coach to also have an administrative position.

"Oh, yall makin' me sick now...I didn make near that!"

In his days at Culver, he actually taught curriculum classes in the education department. Very good teacher and administrator.

I still remember a interview in late 90s where the hfc got 900 bucks. I guess there must have been a wage increase.

Probably assistant A.D. of strength and conditioning
There are numerous ways for a coach to be paid a higher salary or total compensation. Some districts pay by years of experience, some pay a percentage of the teachers salary. Employees are paid based on years of experience and how much education they have. Coaches can also monitor the weight room, teach summer school, be a department head, or be involved in other programs with a stipend that will end up with a large composite salary.
