In our paper yesterday at the end of an article on the Cards it had "notes." One of the notes said both would be activated during the series in Milwaukee but I've not seen or heard that anywhere else. Any of you guys read or the same thing?

Just checked the Cards website and it only says Holliday will return.

Poor Mike with all these guys coming back his head must be buzzing trying to figure who, when, and how to get them back in the line up as the team is free falling. I sure wish Jay was not one of those decisions if he plays over Grichy when he gets back I will start a fire Mike campaign. I can live with Jay over Pham but not much longer.

I took another look at the article that said Waino was coming back for this series. It was an AP writer but I'll have to assume he has a bad source or just got confused with Waino being nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award about hat same time as Holliday returning.

I don't think Grichuck will be back in the field this season. I bet he has Tommy John in the offseason. I could be way off, but I just don't see how that elbow progresses from the point where he can't throw to where he can cut it loose in a couple of weeks.

Seriously hope if and when Holliday is able to play the field, it pushes JHey to CF. I've seriously had my fill of Jay. He looks brutally bad right now. Lunging and out on his front foot with everything. Not even close...Play Adams at 1B, put JHey in CF, and play Moss or Reynolds until Holliday is able to play LF. Then adjust for defense late in game. Moss/Reynolds to 1B and Bourjos/Pham/Jay in CF.

Waino was on pregame. Sly grin. Just trying my hardest to get ready for this season, or next. You could tell he was still on orders from upper management to dial back the "I'll be back this year talk". I saw him run and throw the bullpen when I was at the game last Wednesday. Have heard his only hurdle left is fielding his position. My prediction, he'll be back in the pen this weekend or next week.

At this point I'd rather see Pham than Jay. He has better numbers at the plate and has defended OK.

Not sure what to think about Waino. Would love to see him out there. Just hope he is truly healthy.

Same for Holliday and Adams.

But my biggest wish is that Marp would somehow return to form. He's got more Ks than hits and looks lost again. He's a big key. We need him putting pressure on pitchers and putting the ball in play. Good things happen when he does. Second might be Wong. I have little hope for Peralta. He was good early but anything now is just bonus.

The playoff roster is going to be interesting.

I too worry about tommy john.

Did Albert have surgery when this happened to him? Not sure if what Grichy has is a Tommy John type injury. Sure hope not

Original report stated muscle strain/ligament sprain. I'm not sure what related to the elbow isn't Tommy John once surgery is involved on the ligament. But my understanding of the anatomy might best be stated by my barely getting a B in A&P some 13 years ago at SEMO.

Grichy seems to be injury prone and might never reach his potential which would be a real shame because the guy shows flashes of All Star type player!

How was Mo supposed to know about Grichuk's repeated injuries and Moss' surgery? Actually do some research?
:D

I don't recall Albert having TJ. I know he had surgery but he never had that IIRC
Don't think he ever had anything beyond arthroscopic. On anything. IIRC, the elbow was a huge issue toward the end of the 03 season. The Mang then moved to 1B the next season. Again, if memory serves, he really struggled to throw some seasons. Seemed like that elbow was a chronic issue, but was masked a bit by being at 1B. Hard to do that with Grichuk, unless of course, you move him to 1B.
