Hey Frog,,,,

Was it? I seem to remember it was in good shape, they just didn't want it tore up. That was my major complaint. If they wished for their field to remain prestine, fine. You then forfeit the right to dictate where the game is played. The other team hosts IMO instead of being forced to travel even further to the game.

Heck I don't really remember, I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Well, you remember completely incorrectly. The field was so water logged that playing on it would have been dangerous. The other team had no problem with playing on a field that included potential college coaches watching who might see someone they were interested in. Nobody forced anybody to do anything. The schools discussed it and MSHSAA approved it. You're posting your opinion and not the facts.

No, I remember correctly. It wasn't a unique circumstance or a localized problem. The whole state was socked in with rain. That same night I watched my Tigers play on a water logged natural grass field that most would have considered unplayable. MSHSAA did not step in and deem your field unplayable. The game COULD have been held there, the CHOICE was made to move it to Kansas. It doesn't matter to me if the other school went along with it or the reason why. It should have not been (nor should be today) an option to move a playoff game out of state.

Funny, I don't think you were present during this situation. So, I'm not sure what you are remembering. MSHSAA did not step in. The two schools conferred, agreed and MSHSAA granted them permission. The game COULD have been played on a parking lot, too, but it wasn't. We had the CHOICE, so we made the CHOICE. Your Tigers have the same choice and could have worked it out with whoever they played. MSHSAA doesn't really care if it matters to you or not and neither do we. MSHSAA got their portion of the gate and the game was played. Put some powder on that and it might stop hurting.

So, you now agree I was correct. Noted.

Good points bullit but I just want to play Pittsburg mostly out of proximity and the atmosphere of the games at Pitt and in WC. Pittsburg has probably never fielded a team as good as Rockhurst or Har-Ber but they have had some good teams that have given some good WC teams tough games and in a little bit of a down year, beat them. Rockhurst was a great trip last year but I

I agree that playing up all the time can take a toll on a team with less depth. I do think a team has to play good competition in order to get better even if it means a loss. I don't think WC beats Helias in the dome 2 years ago without the tough loss at Har-Ber. I also think teams (like possibly CJ) can roll over lesser competition (Lamar and Monett are probably only teams that have potential to beat them) but won't know how good they are until they play a teams that can expose any weaknesses they have and force them to have to dig to win.

It was in referenced to this that you were incorrect. You falsely claim that it was moved to preserve the field. This was a conversation that I'm confident you were not involved in, so you have no grounds to base this on other than your opinion. You then proceed to dictate the grounds for forfeiting of a game based on your feelings. Then, YOUR OPINION dictates that the other team hosts when it is completely up to the two teams who are negotiating this. So, no, your OPINION was and is not in compliance with the facts and therefore not correct.

However, you're free to have an opinion.

Well you have poured way to much studying and energy looking up facts and figures into that post than I even care to think about! But yet you could not double check my facts on Pittsburg high student enrollment? By the way this list them at only 799 9th-12th so I was giving them a few more :rolleyes:http://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/kansas/districts/pittsburg/pittsburg-high-8124 remember just google it if in doubt. Now Monett has almost 9.5K in population yet our school is half the size of Webb and about 50 less than Pittsburg. But demographically Pittsburg population could be older or of college age, which would make those numbers seem off? Now yes back in the day Pittsburg had some solid tradition in football, however their last state title was in 1990. They made the Kansas playoffs last year for the first time since 2007. So I would not call that a real power house I mean come on it is Kansas football . Look what Webb did to the best team in that state just two weeks ago. Yes that is poking fun at Rockhust and their Kansas connection:D.

Now make no mistake about it, I am in no means questioning why John put them on the schedule, In fact you are the first one to bring up his name or even that reason. I have heard our AD laminate about the issues of finding somebody to play, so I am sure whatever the reason John did it for, it is a good one, and I am sure Webb has issues filling their schedule and it is a close game and really should be a good game for the fans of both towns. What I have always talked about is the "fan speak" which for years, some not all, but some fans have beat their chest about how their seclude makes them better than anybody else they play. I guess over the years I have grown tired of hearing OMG you are going to make me defend them RAZR will like this, how CJ could never compete with Webb because they played all smaller schools. Hate to tell them all the bad news... but CJ would have lost to Webb no matter who they played in those 9 regular season games, Webb was just that much better. CJ did beat up on the co-ozark champ however last year so maybe playing in the big 8 did not hurt them too bad afterall because a team who only plays smaller school should never compete with a school that plays only larger....right? Anyways so now you guys are playing a school that would not even be the largest in the Big 8 not even counting CJ. Yet again I am sure some "fans" will figure out how to spin Pittsburg into some power house even though they have not won a state title in 25 years and made the playoffs for the first time in 6. ;)

Bullit weve always been cool so dont take this in anyway bad but granted Pburg hasnt won a State title in 25 years when did CJ last when theres? cARTHAGE plays us tough 8 outta 10 years their last title was? Not being State Champ doesnt mean you arent good it just means someone was better. Pburg WEBB used to be good physical games regardless of the outcome but they were one of the last to beat WEBB in the regular season and at Cardinal Stadium. After two games with the ROCK Id rather we play Pittsburg, 30 minute drive more competitive ( and yes I know ROCK didnt field its greatest teams) but they were runner up last year.
